Suspicious Voting Machines Subject of FBI Investigation

Reports of suspicious voting machines were made during early voting in some states and on Election Day in a number of other states.  In Cleveland, a number of precincts reported 100% of the votes going for Obama.

Among the states with questionable voting machine reports is Maryland, where state delegate Kathryn Afzali has requested the FBI get involved.  She said that she heard from a number of her constituents that when they selected Mitt Romney’s name on the voting machines that they were registered as votes for Barack Obama.

One of the people who contacted her was a state lawmaker who told her that he tried three times to vote for the party of his choice and the machine continued to choose the opposite party of his choice.  This particular lawmaker said that due to his technical background, that he was positive the problem was not a simple glitch.  He informed the election judge at the time and insisted the voting machine be pulled and locked up until it could be properly examined.

In an interview with WND, Afzali said:

“I just feel it is my duty to try to get to the bottom of this.  We’re not making any accusations. The Board of Elections are good people. They have checks and balances … but we want to make sure everything is fair.”

“My request [to the FBI] is … I want them to take these machines. Let an FBI computer expert analyze them.”

Richard Rothschild, Carroll County Commissioner, reported the same vote switching scenario in his county as Afzali had reported to her.  He said that he knew how easy it would be for a programmer to insert a single line or code that could cause the machines to register some or all Romney votes as votes for Obama.  Rothschild said that this matter needs to be cleared up as soon as possible because it leaves the general public with a sense of helplessness and hopelessness.

In his interview with WND, Rothschild said:

“If American people feel they cannot trust their voting system, there’s the possibility of more desperate action.  There are a number of possibilities [for reaction] in nullifications, secession, including throwing off such governments.”

“If people think their voting processes do not work, [if] they conclude they are not being afforded constitutional protections, they may conclude their only option is to throw off such government.”

With so many reports of voting machine ‘malfunctions’ from so many areas in the country, I truly believe that Mitt Romney actually won the general and electoral votes and should be making preparations to be inaugurated on January 22.

But how do we prove it?  Do we need the FBI to investigate every voting machine to see if they can find anything?  If you recall an earlier article, a programmer testified that he had altered the programming on voting machines in Florida back in 2004 and that it is very easy to do. He also testified that a good programmer could write the code in such a way as to make the code delete itself at a given point in the program, leaving absolutely no trace that the cheating code ever existed.  If this could be done so easily in 2004 and 2006 when he testified, with the advances in programming and technology, it would be even easier to do it today.

Is there any real safe and secure way to make every vote count the way the voter actually votes?  Is it even possible to have a tamper proof voting system?
