Colorado Moves To Ban Shotguns

Liberals have been saying for a long time that the 2nd Amendment is about the right to hunt deer. And if you’ve dared to listen to Piers Morgan for any length of time, he’ll tell his 2nd Amendment guests that Obama isn’t after everyone’s guns. They just want to ban the “assault” rifle, because no one actually needs one in order to kill a deer.

And who was it that told a woman to “buy a shotgun” to protect herself from a home invader? It was none other than VP Joe Biden. So, he recommends that everyone buy a shotgun for home defense. But what if you can’t even buy one of those?

The Colorado House just passed HB 13-1224 that would effectively outlaw a pump shotgun, the most popular choice among Colorado’s hunters. State Senator Greg Brophy, a Republican, pointed to a section of the bill that defined a high-capacity magazine as one that can accept or be converted to accept more than 15 rounds or 8 shotgun shells. Brophy held the semi-automatic shotgun and demonstrated to the local news reporter that it is designed to be able to accommodate an additional magazine. In other words, it can be converted into a “high-capacity” magazine which, according to the bill, makes that shotgun illegal. He said further:

“The law is specific as of July 1. You can keep it, but only if you maintain continuous possession of it. If it breaks, you can’t give it to a gunsmith even to fix it. You can’t hand it to your son to use. It’s all now outlawed because of this 1224, the bill that Gov. Hickenlooper says he’s going to sign … this is the most extreme thing anybody’s ever done related to firearms.”

It still has to pass the Colorado Senate, but like the Senator said above, the Governor is ready to sign the bill.

Senate Democrats were pressed by CBS about the issue Senator Brophy brought up about shotguns. They said that they would amend the bill, and that a draft of the amendment would be heard Monday in committee.

This bill doesn’t need to be amended. It needs to be thrown out.

That's Joe Biden's favorite gun. Guess he can no longer go to Colorado. Colorado used to be a great state, but my guess is that all those people moving out of California, who wanted to "get away from taxes," brought all their dumbness with them.

Stupid people say "Oh it would never happen here", guess what morons remember dealing with any politician 1. it's a lie 2.give them an inch they will take a mile, 3. majority will and do not adhere to their Oaths and limits of power,4. If we do not get our head out of our arse, say goodbye to freedoms. Further, it is only a matter of time when the government will make mandatory you showing your passport to leave this country. Duh!, it will never happen here keep thinking that way and don't whine when it happens. %Remember the takers voted this crap in and lack of voters made sure of the result. With the exception of fraud and I did not say possible. Remember "If it can Happen it will Happen.)

The mindess idiots escaped Caliphoney and invaded Colorado and other states. Apparently
they also brough their liberal, stupidity and mindless moronic ideals with them. If they don't
like hunting, guns, freedom and the great outdoors then I suggest they pack a bag full
of dope and go home to waco land on the west coast.

I live in Colorado and am moving as soon as I can sell my house
. Period. I will not live in occupied territory. The original Red Dawn was made here. Now we are living it, only it isn't "Red" Dawn, it is "Red, White, and Blue" Dawn.

I am born and raised here. I am 71 years old, and remember what America and Colorado once were. 'Twas a land of free and independent people, honest and hardworking. Bound together by a love of God and Country.

    Now I am ashamed of the whole lot. God help us, folks, we need to get on our knees and pray. Here is a list of the state senator's - write them now!;;;;;;;;

We saw the leftist commie unions take over the Wisconsin State Capital building and shut it down for days. Shouldn't the remaining patriots in Colorado do the same? Show the democrat socialist subversives the road out of town.

Go ahead Colorado. Smoke your pot. Let them take your guns. Lose the tourism that keeps your state going. Let them tax you into oblivion. Isn't it funny how something is not important, until you lose it ? We are slowly losing this country. Russia felt the same way just before their revolution. Nearly 100 years later and they still haven't recovered.

Is the whole state of colorado made up of cowards !

  • quipster

Come to Montana better hunting and no libs don't get any gooder !!!!

  • Razorgirl53

Many hunters go to Colorodo to hunt elk and deer. When they restrict hunting due to the gun laws then the deer and elk population will grow to the nuisance point. Then, due to over-population, they will begin to destroy the native vegetation. When the vegetation is limited then they get sick and become more susceptible to diseases (which can also effect cattle). The herds will begin to die out and the environmentalist wackos won't know what hit them (the wackos, not the elk and deer). This happened in the State of Tennessee in the early 1900's because they thought the deer were over hunted. Thanks to hunters, the game has returned to plentiful levels. But it takes a while.
The transplanted libs are starting a domino effect with their liberal ways. I'm sorry. I have enjoyed my visits to that beautiful state in the past. It was fun while it lasted.

If the citizens of Colorado can, they should recall the gun-grabbers.
