Common Core Standards Will Control You and Your Children

The American educational system is being federalized through implementation of Race to the Top and Common Core Standards. Once Common Core Standards are completely implemented, the federal government will have total control of assessment tools and textbooks used in core subjects. Also, a national data collection system called State Longitudinal Data Systems (SLDS) will be used to determine a child’s educational opportunities. The federalization of education will turn all school-choice programs into federally approved programs.

The International Baccalaureate is a set of standards which are shaped by several United Nations treaties. International Baccalaureate Organization explains that IB and Common Core Standards share the values and beliefs of the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights with emphasis on Article 26.

This means that Common Core Standards and IB programs are teaching beliefs and values contained in treaties that the United States does not support. Among these values are the surrender of the American Constitution, of national sovereignty, and of individual rights so students will accept becoming members of the “world community.” The Common Core Standards focus on changing the social and political values of American children. Few goals address academics; math standards actually lower expectations. What had been required from a fourth grade student is now required from a fifth grader.

The national data collection system (SLDS) will follow a child from Kindergarten to adulthood. A student’s IQ scores, test scores, Social Security number, and medical records will become part of the collected data which will be used to help determine educational and job opportunities afforded each student.

Once these systems are in place, all students in every educational setting will have to meet these state standards if they are going to pass the state-created assessment tools. Therefore, the education provided in every setting must include the curricula presented in state schools.

To accomplish these goals, the federal government and the United Nations have cooperated to write textbooks that meet the goals of Common Core Standards and IB. The federal government is funding organizations that will create testing tools to assess the student’s progress in accepting the social and political ideologies being taught in the classroom. Implementation of Common Core Standards is expected to be completed within the next two to three years.

The only effective means of preventing international control of the American educational system is to eliminate the federal funding of education. Advocates for Academic Freedom is an educational consulting firm working with legislators across the United States to organize a conservative movement to eliminate federal control of education.

Visit the Advocates for Academic Freedom home page, find the Petition for Progress button on the left side of the page, click on that button and sign the petition. To stop the federalization of education, we must have proof that there is sufficient support from the electorate. Please sign the petition and become a member of the grassroots movement to limit federal governmental control by removing federal funding of education and reallocating those funds to the states.

Liberals cannot let kids be kids. Instead they need to recruit them for the agenda.

    Liberalism – – – it’s a social illness.

These people are heII-bent on destroying this great Nation that was doing just fine before they began inserting their Satanism into it’s growth. Like all jealousy, they cannot stand to see anything succeed without their interference. Once it looks like it will, here they come. If they believed in God, would they actually think he will let them succeed? If I ever doubt God’s existence because of what’s going on, all I need do is look toward the liberals to know there is a Satan hard at work. And if there is a Satan, there is a God, and I’m right back on track.

Just the latest in dumbing down of the educational system. 60% of LA City Schools grads cannot read.

See The Two Minute Conservative at: and when you speak ladies will swoon and liberal gentlemen will weep.

Karen – Homeschoolers nationwide stand with you in this effort: is a group we started on Facebook only on March 9, and we already have 1,700 members. We are researching how this might affect homeschoolers, but we stand with public school parents and educators who want to get this out of the system. I am in WI, too. Let us know what we can do to help.

This crap has already come to Kansas. We’ll see if our legislature has been fooled by the liberals.

This is complete and utter BS! This is 100% communist logic. Are we communist China or the United States of America? Talk about stifling individual growth and potential. Under this form of “education,” Ben Carson would have never become Dr. Ben Carson as he would have been deemed “unfit” as a child. Since when is it the government’s, or the school system’s, job to determine what jobs and educational opportunities should be available to any individual? Last I heard, we were FREE to choose for ourselves what we wanted to do as a career.

This author has no idea what Common Core standards are. (They are such things as [2nd grade]: Identify the main topic of a multiparagraph text as well as the focus of specific paragraphs with the text. [4th grade]: Demonstrate understanding of figurative language, word relationships, and nuances in word meanings.) This article is riddled with misinformation. Here are a few of the items she is wrong on: “government will have total control of…textbooks.” There are over 100 publishers who have already developed curricula to go along with Common Core standards. Local schools can choose whichever curriculum they think would best serve their students. “Common Core Standards…are teaching beliefs and values contained in treaties that the United States does not support.” I would challenge her to even give one example of this. Actually in 12th grade they are required to read such things as The Declaration of Independence, the Preamble to the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and Lincoln’s Second Inaugural Address (12.RIT.9) “Few goals address academics…” What?? The whole Common Core Standards are addressing the academics for our children. When written all states agreed that no state should have to lower its standards, so they are a rigorous set of standards. There is much misinformation being circulated about Common Core and this author managed to harvest almost all of the misinformation. She talks about information gathering. I was told by my state’s Education Department that they do not pass information on to the federal government unless it is needed for a specific purpose. She states “The federal government is funding organizations that will create testing tools to assess the student’s progress in accepting the social and political ideologies being taught in the classroom.” There are no social and political ideologies in the Common Core standards. She is mixing up what standards and curriculum are. Standards provide teachers with year-end goals. They are not intended to prescribe what will happen in the classroom day to day. Please see the 12th grade standards for yourself. They can be found at Standards.pdf The 12th grade standards are on pages 38, 40, 45-47. 50. 54-55. 81-62, and 64-66. Somehow all this misinformation on a good program needs to be stopped. As a teacher my students will benefit from this higher set of standards. Please don’t fall for the misinformation from authors such as this.
