Obama is Going Down in Flames and Republicans Are in Compromise Mode

President Obama’s approval is at 37 percent, the roll out of ObamaCare is a disaster, “Nearly 75% of Americans say they have not been impacted by the sequester cuts,” states are filling in the void of Washington’s failures, and Obama and Co. are getting most of the blame for the shutdown.

He’s ticked off the “Greatest Generation,” a group of wheelchair-bound men who fought for our nation’s survival and freedom who travelled to DC to see a memorial to honor their war-time blood, sweat, and tears. You don’t tick off these old guys without there being repercussions.

The following is from the Million Vet March on the Memorials website. Notice that only Obama and Democrats are mentioned:

In a mean-spirited fit of selfish anger, Barack Obama has shut down our nation’s war memorials. And he has declared open war on our honored veterans!

The World War II memorial … the Vietnam Veterans Memorial … the Korean War Veterans Memorial – Obama has shut them all down to force his will on the House of Representatives and frankly, to get revenge on the American people who oppose Obamacare and his other naked power grabs.

Let’s put it plainly: Barack Obama is behaving like a vicious tyrant. And if he succeeds in this assault on the democratic system, the Republic we love is at mortal risk. It’s just that simple.

That’s why I am asking you now to take two decisive moves to show Barack Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi – and all of their oppressive ilk in Washington – that “We the People” are still in charge. And we won’t rest until we take back our memorials and monuments!

The nation’s truckers are also upset enough to put together a convoy to Washington. I don’t think they’re fans of Obama.

Even DC Democrats are confronting Obama to his face. “D.C.’s non-voting delegate, Eleanor Holmes Norton, personally confronted Obama about the decision on Wednesday during a White House meeting attended by House Democrats.”

And so how are the Establishment Republicans acting? They think their party is losing the debate, and they want to “compromise” any chance they get. They’ve lost through compromise for so long that they don’t know what it looks like to win.

The action (or lack of it) of the GOP reminds me of the film The Loneliness of the Long Distant Runner (1962). Tom Courtenay plays Colin Smith. Smith is sentenced to a boys’ reformatory for robbing a bakery. He runs to escape from his dreary world. His talent is noticed by “the Governor” who believes hard work and sports are ways to rehabilitate wayward youths.LonelinessOfTheLongDistanceRunner_Book

Smith fights the system at every turn. And in the final race against a prestigious boys’ school, Smith is leading. He can see the finish line. The second place runner is far behind. If Smith keeps a steady pace, he will easily win.

Just yards from the finish line, he stops running. The crowd begins to yell. “Run! Run! Finish the race!” Smith is unmoved by their shouts as the second-place runner passes him. He purposely loses the race.

If you want an image of the Republican Establishment, that’s it. They seem always to be running away from victory when victory is within their grasp

When some members of their party head for the finish line, the old-guard Republicans are lined up near the finish line trying to trip them.

Geez, you guys really ought to get out more.

The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner is not an accurate comparison to Republicans. In the film, actor Tom Courtenay simply stops running. Republicans, however, continue to run, but in the opposite direction, which is in keeping with a party always in retreat.

Republicans believe that the real sport is in racing back to the starting line.

    TERM LIMITS!

The GOP believes the BS coming from the Left. They always believe the people are against them because they don’t know the truth of what’s being done to them. We need to somehow educate all the low information morons who haven’t got a clue. That’s the deal, but how do we go about it? How do we educate the people who want free everything that the freebies are bad for them?
Conservatives are in a bad place. We’re watching the shredding of our country, our freedom and our way of life by a spoiled, bratty little Marxist and his racist, White people hating wife. You couldn’t make this stuff up.

If WE don’t tell them, they will not know we stand with them…just leave them a voice mail, they are looking for signs from Americans that we do care and we support them…they do check their messages…the b.s.the left is shoveling is being carried by the water carrying msm and they ALWAYS make it out like they appear to be winning. We have to communicate with the people fighting FOR US and the ones fighting AGAINST US…KEEP YOUR FRIENDS CLOSE AND YOUR ENEMIES CLOSER…we can win this fight and the left know it…why do you think they are yelling so loud…they always tell us what they fear and they fear the American People !

It doesn’t do any good to demand the rhinos & dems do the right thing. All they do is give you a form letter bunch of bs back & then proceed to vote for obutwholecare. My 1 senator is a dirty dem, & since our congressional district was redistricted we lost our good congressman who always voted conservative & got stuck with a rhino. Yes, this vote on the obutwholecare thing was the big test to see how he’d vote & he sold out & voted yes. :(

Obama is getting most of the blame for the shutdown?? I am a staunch Obama hater and wish what you say was true, but the polls are giving the republicans more blame by over 20% polling points. Where do you get your numbers? Thin air???

    • Alisa

I haven’t seen the other poll numbers but I’m betting its either 1) their fudging them, or 2) the complicit, traitorous main stream news media have been shoveling out lies blaming republicans & the tea party instead of the pos squatting in the WH.

I’m beginning to wonder if the GOP really wants to win, or if they are just as determined as Obama to destroy our way of life.

    HURBIS RINO McCAIN.

No matter whether you agree with Cruz, Paul, etc., they are leaders. I say we need about 50 more exactly like them and this country would have no trouble. They would take turns explaining loudly and explicitly what is wrong with Obama and his administration. The almost useless press would be forced to cover these comments. And the house of cards would fall down.

Term limits people! The politicians should consider it to be an honor to serve this country. There should not be political careers in Washington and certainly no pensions beyond there term in service. If they serve two years then two years pension should be all they get. If they serve a full term; “max 4 YEARS” then four years pension should be what they get. I’d rather see NO PENSION! Now that’s compromise.
