Another Obamacare Delay? Will Congress Ever Impeach This Dictator?

Remember how outraged and self-righteous Democrats became during the government non-shutdown about the idea of defunding or even delaying Obamacare? So many grand and pompous speeches were delivered. So many pundits claimed the Republicans had destroyed themselves.

And now the media doesn’t even hide the way Obama is using self-appointed dictator powers to stop the law from going into effect in order to try to keep his party from losing power!

From The Hill:

As early as this week, according to two sources, the White House will announce a new directive allowing insurers to continue offering health plans that do not meet ObamaCare’s minimum coverage requirements.

Prolonging the “keep your plan” fix will avoid another wave of health policy cancellations otherwise expected this fall.

The cancellations would have created a firestorm for Democratic candidates in the last, crucial weeks before Election Day.

The White House is intent on protecting its allies in the Senate, where Democrats face a battle to keep control of the chamber.

“I don’t see how they could have a bunch of these announcements going out in September,” one consultant in the health insurance industry said. “Not when they’re trying to defend the Senate and keep their losses at a minimum in the House. This is not something to have out there right before the election.”

The story doesn’t even mention the complete lack of legal authority for Dictator Obama to make this new change in the law. It acts like we should all take for granted that a President is a super-legislator.

When I searched for any news stories on the legality of Obama’s actions, I found this article by Reuters that asked the question about previous changes that Obama has made:

Delays beyond January 2014 may have exceeded the administration’s authority, according to legal experts, because when Congress passed the Affordable Care Act of 2010 it stated that the employer mandate would apply after December 31, 2013.

The administration has taken “a legally shaky position,” said Nicholas Bagley, a law professor at the University of Michigan who specializes in administrative and health law. “Extending the delay even to a portion of plans for a second year is pushing legal boundaries even harder.”

Legal experts said, however, they could not think of anyone who would have the standing to sue. At least two lawsuits have already been filed over delays to the employer coverage requirements, one of which was dismissed in January

So now Obama has added yet another change purely for partisan reasons. He is admitting the law is every bit as horrible as Republicans say, and he wants the horror to happen, but only after the 2014 elections.

And all this talk about “balance of powers” is all turning out to be a ruse. In the American system the President can do illegal, criminal things over and over again because no one “has standing to sue.”

If we can’t stop the President from making up laws at will, how can we talk about “checks and balances”? There are none.

The President is a treasonous criminal. Congress needs to impeach him.
