CA GOP Fights Obamacare & Outrages Liberals; They Are A Model, Not An Embarrassment

I don’t know why taxpayer dollars were available for the website, but the site itself was an excellent idea. You know it is great because Liberals are screaming about it:

California Assembly Republicans are getting blowback for a website that points out some of the, ahem, shortcomings of the new health care law. Not only does it share a similar URL to California’s official CoveredCA.com, but it kinda looks official. The concern is that it could cause confusion for those looking for the actual site.

One effect of the liberal blowback: Traffic to the GOP’s site has increased tenfold in the past couple of days, CA GOP Assembly communications director Sabrina Lockhart told us. Geez, the site wasn’t getting much love at all when it first went live in August. And yes, it was created with taxpayer dollars as an informational site by the GOP.

“Assembly Republicans have made no secret of their concerns about the new law,” Lockhart said. “We’re just passing on information.”

The recent flurry in interest around the GOP site is “manufactured outrage on the Internet,” Lockhart said, “that is distracting people from the real problems” with the health care rollout. Like this.

Manufactured or not, the outrage Tuesday from the progressive Courage Campaign was pretty loud:

“It’s outrageous that our elected officials in California are using taxpayer dollars to intentionally mislead their constituents and divert them from CoveredCA.com,” said Dr. Paul Song, executive chairman of the Courage Campaign and a practicing oncologist. “Our state’s website is a model for the nation and single-handedly signing up more Americans for quality health coverage than all the other states combined, yet Republicans in Sacramento have wasted taxpayer dollars building a fake website in an attempt to sow confusion and fear, in a futile attempt to discredit the law.”

Yes how outrageous. Pretending to be official and nonpartisan is something that Democrats would never do. The Weekly Standard recently exposed the hypocrisy regarding Enroll America:

Enroll America boasts all manner of nonpartisan credentials. Most of its staffers seem to have worked in the nonpartisan Obama presidential campaigns of 2008 or 2012, often both. Its president, Anne Filipic, served as deputy executive director of the nonpartisan Democratic National Committee, and came here straight from the nonpartisan White House Office of Public Engagement. The nonpartisan Obamacare czar, Kathleen Sebelius (whom Filipic also worked for), has admitted putting the arm on companies to make donations to Enroll America, sparking several nonpartisan congressional investigations.

And the Liberals have the nerve to pretend to be outraged because a website looks “official”? The Obama Administration once again demonstrates “the audacity of hypocrisy.”

The idea that Republicans have done a hundredth as much as Obama to “discredit the law” is itself a farcical pretense. But the bottom line is that the only weapon Republicans have is the truth and their only hope is to broadcast it as much as possible. Getting people to read about a few of the problems with the Affordable Care Act was a brilliant move.

The national leaders of the party and others need to take note. The liberal outrage against the California Republicans should single them out for us as an example to follow, not a source of embarrassment. When Liberals scream about dirty tricks they are always objecting to effective tactics by Republicans.

Let’s see some more of the same!
