Get Used to the Police State

Martial law is the new reality. According to NBC News, “Heavily Armed Anti-Terror Police to Guard Times Square on New Year’s.” Nearly 6,000 police officers — hundreds of them with long guns, radiation detectors and bomb-sniffing dogs — will be guarding New York’s Times Square as a year punctuated by terrorist attacks draws to a close, officials said Tuesday. The NYPD and the FBI unveiled plans to protect the more than 1 million people who will throng to the Crossroads of the World on New Read more […]

Alleged Belgium Security Orgy Tells Us Something about Security

According to the New York Times, “Brussels Police Investigate Reports of Police Orgy Amid Terror Alert.” In the six weeks since the Paris terrorist attacks, law enforcement agencies in Brussels, where most of the attackers lived or had ties, have been denounced as slow, unresponsive, disorganized and even incompetent. To this list of woes, another was added on Wednesday: Officials are investigating accounts of an alcohol-fueled “orgy” at a police station one night last month while Brussels, Read more […]

Armed Father and SWAT Team Save Son’s Life from Hospital

Here’s a thumbnail sketch of what happed: Kid has a stroke; ruled brain dead and put on organ donor list. Armed dad goes in room and holds off medics for three hours. That is long enough for the son to recover enough functionality to prove he is NOT brain dead. He squeezed his father’s hand, and SWAT medic could see that he was alert when they came into the room. Dad spends some time in jail and then gets to spend Christmas with his highly recovered son. One of the lesson’s here is that the Read more […]

Restaurant Employee Shoots Masked Gunman. Will He Be Charged?

I wouldn’t be surprised if this armed employee is fired by the restaurant because he as carrying a weapon. Most businesses make their property a gun-free zone at least as far as employees are concerned. Whether or not he was supposed to do so, this restaurant employee was prepared. The Sun-Sentinel reports, “Masked gunman shot dead by restaurant employee.” The tables turned for a masked gunman when he was shot and killed by an employee of the Miramar restaurant he attempted to rob, police said. Should a Pastor Teach that It is Wrong For Christians to Defend Themselves?

I suppose John Piper will object to my interpretation of his essay, “Should Christians Be Encouraged to Arm Themselves?” If so, he is self-deceived. The point of this long essay is to tell Christians they should not possess firearms and the secondary point is to deny that he is not telling Christians that they should not possess firearms. The reason he touched on the subject, he tells us, is because he didn’t like the words of Jerry Falwell, Jr., telling his students to arm themselves. I Read more […]

Should People on the No-Fly List Be Permitted to Drive?

Reuters reports, “Oregon woman held in Las Vegas Strip sidewalk rampage drove with license suspended.” An Oregon woman who killed one woman and injured at least 35 pedestrians when she plowed her car into crowds on a Las Vegas Strip sidewalk on Sunday evening was driving on a suspended license, authorities said on Monday. Lakeisha N. Holloway, 24, who was homeless and had been living in her sedan with her toddler, gave herself up to officers a short distance from the scene of the carnage. She parked Read more […]

Getting Wise to Gun Control Lies

How many times have we witnessed the scenario where some crazy or some terrorist kills a bunch of people in a public place with a gun and within hours, sometimes minutes, the Left is breaking out the calls for gun control? Never waste a crisis is the mantra for Progressives pushing their anti-gun agenda. Apparently, though, years of the same tactics are finally backfiring on the Left. A new ABC News/Washington Post poll has found the highest opposition to an “assault weapons” ban ever. According Read more […]

Representative Put on No-Fly List; Told to Use Middle Name

Liberals want to use the no-fly list, or some other terrorist watch list, to suspend an American’s Second-Amendment right to bear arms, it might be good to learn about the story of Congressman Tom McClintock of Elk Grove, California. The Conservative Republican was put on the no-fly list. The Sacramento Bee reports: Among the proposed restrictions advocated by President Barack Obama and rebuffed by Congress is to ban those on the federal government’s terrorist no-fly list from being able Read more […]

White House Spokesman: “I Don’t Know” Why Gun Sales Are Up

Here’s a headline from the Washington Times proving that it is impossible to distinguish the propaganda from the Obama Administration from The Onion: “White House: No idea why Americans are buying so many guns.” President Obama’s spokesman said Thursday that the record number of Americans seeking to buy guns in recent weeks is “a tragedy” that the White House is at a loss to explain. “The more that we see this kind of violence on our streets, the more people go out and buy guns,” said Read more […]

Washington Post: Marco Rubio Is Right on Gun Control

On December 4, Marco Rubio was on CBS This Morning. He made the following statement: “None of the major shootings that have occurred in this country over the last few months or years that have outraged us, would gun laws have prevented them.” I am pretty shocked by the Washington Post’s reaction. “Fact Checker” Glenn Kessler carefully went through all the shootings beginning with Sandy Hook. How the Ruling Class Trains Disarmed Sheep to be Slaughtered

Not everyone needs to be armed. People are free to choose. In certain situations a gun can save your life. The question you have to ask yourself is how likely is it that you’re going to be in that situation. If you are broke and haven’t been raised in gun culture you’re looking at a commitment of time and money to purchase a gun and to make sure you don’t endanger yourself or others with a gun. Right now, gun violence is not common–not even as common as it used to be. Getting a gun is like buying Read more […]

Love Your Neighbor as Yourself in a Mass Shooting

While it is horrible that the victims in the San Bernardino shooting were unarmed and vulnerable, so that fifteen were killed by merely two shooters, it is important to remember courage and self-sacrifice in the face of death. Yesterday, this showed up in my Facebook feed: While Facebook memes are not something I would consider reliable, this one could be easily verified. For example, the New York Post reports, “San Bernardino survivor calls victim Shannon Johnson ‘her hero’” When Read more […]
