The Indiana pizzeria is closed down right now, but it is supported by Christians and homosexuals.
We have posted earlier about an Indiana pizza business that is being accused of “discrimination” against homosexuals.
As is well explained in this video, the issue is being intentionally confused. The business has never discriminated against its customers; it has simply elected not to participate in a ceremony that the owners regard as a fictional mockery of a wedding. There is no other way for Christians to perceive a “same sex wedding.”
So it really is about whether or not Christians can be forced to choose between owning a business and affirming homosexual “marriage.”
The Indy Star reported Saturday,
A comment by the co-owner of Memories Pizza in Walkerton that she would refuse to cater a wedding for a gay or lesbian couple because of religious beliefs sparked a national uproar.
LGBT advocates denounced the pizza place. The owners appeared on Glenn Beck’s nationally syndicated radio program. The case was discussed on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show and featured on the websites for the Washington Post and New York Times.
In a most remarkable show of support, an Internet crowdfunding page for the small-town pizza shop raised $842,387 from 29,160 people before donations were closed Saturday. That far surpassed the goal of $200,000.
But the supporters of the Memories Pizza are not limited to Christians.
Newsflash: not all homosexuals believe in re-defining marriage. Just because you get erotically fixated on your own sex and even fall in love with a member of your own sex, doesn’t mean you have to forget that marriage is an institution that serves purposes in history beyond your feelings. Homosexual activity is sinful. I wish homosexuals would trust God and pursue a different lifestyle. But there are plenty of them who haven’t lost their minds on this issue.
Furthermore, even homosexuals that do affirm such “marriage” are not necessarily anti-American bigots who think the government should inflict conformity on religious believers. They may be practicing sin, but they haven’t become totalitarian controllers. They still think it should be a free country.
Thus, we read at the Blaze,
A woman, who identified herself as Courtney Hoffman, wrote:
“As a member of the gay community, I would like to apologize for the mean spirited attacks on you and your business. I know many gay individuals who fully support your right to stand up for your beliefs and run your business according to those beliefs. We are outraged at the level of hate and intolerance that has been directed at you and I sincerely hope that you are able to rebuild.”
They donated twenty dollars to Memories Pizza.
Another homosexual donated 250 dollars:
My partner and I have been together almost 27 years. The Democratic Leadership hijacked the Gay community years ago and continues to spew the intolerance of religion as they promote the tolerances of their choices. This is one big community-organized ploy with the media to do harm to people with religious convictions, conservatives, capitalism, on and on. Love, Peace, and Happiness to the Family!!!!
This attempt to equate a refusal to participate in a “gay marriage” that the business owner regards as a a fake, with discrimination or any kind of real violation of an individual’s rights is obviously a contrived scam designed to generate a grievance.
Homosexuals can see through it as clearly as anyone else
