Iowa Gubernatorial Candidates “Pray” For Abortion Rights

I don’t get it. Democrats wanted “God” removed from their platform, but now they’re praying to God for abortion rights? And thanking Him for abortion doctors and the rights women already have with regards to abortion? This sounds like some kind of sick joke. One minute they’re “hailing Satan,” and the next they’re “giving thanks, oh Lord.”

At the pro-abort event, Des Moines activist Midge Slater offered her supplications and thanksgivings while State Senator Jack Hatch and Rep. Tyler Olson (both gubernatorial candidates) stood with heads bowed and eyes closed. Other activists were present and holding signs that read “Iowa Women Deserve Better.” Here are some excerpts from their “prayer”:

“We give thanks, oh Lord, for the doctors, both current and future, who provide quality abortion care… We pray for increased financial support for low-income women to access contraception, abortion and childcare… Today, we pray for women in developing nations, that they may know the power of self-determination… May they have access to employment, education, birth control and abortion. Today we pray for the families who have chosen. May they know the blessing of choice.”

If you think you can stomach it, here’s the entire 4 ½ minute prayer:

Recently, Democrats have been trying to make abortion out to have deep, spiritual overtones (In a sense, it does, but not in the sense that they claim). It was Pelosi that said, “as a Catholic, abortion is sacred ground” to her. Obama asked God to “bless” Planned Parenthood at an event recently. And now, abortion supporters are actually praying and thanking God for abortion and asking for more. I believe God will give them what they ask for until there are no more of them left.
