National Park Service Showing Pro-Islamic Videos Paid For With Taxpayer Dollars

Can you imagine what would happen if any part of the federal government paid for and displayed videos promoting Christianity or Judaism?  Groups like the ACLU, Freedom From Religion Foundation and Americans For The Separation Of Church And State, would all be up in arms and trampling each other at the courthouse doors filing their lawsuits.

With that in mind, would it surprise you to learn that it has happened with videos promoting Islam?

The Women’s Rights National Historic Park in Schenectady, New York is part of the National Park Service.  Taxpayer dollars were used to produce at least three videos promoting Islam and how they have supposedly promoted women’s rights.  The videos were made in conjunction with the AnNur Islamic School in the Schenectady area.

One of the Muslim boys at the school touts Islamic women’s rights, saying:

“People think that Islam oppresses women and there’s no equality, but they’re wrong – there’s equity … 7th century A.D. Islam gave women the right to be involved in politics, the right to earn and keep her own money.”

“[Islam] gave women the right to work outside of the home, Islam gave women the right to own property, Islam gave women the right to divorce, Islam gave women the right to choose who she marries.”

“Islam gave women a whole bunch of rights that Western women acquired later in the 19th and 20th centuries, and we’ve had these rights since the 7th century A.D., and it’s just not acknowledged worldwide.”

Evidently, this school boy is unaware that even today in some Middle East countries that Islamic women are not allowed to attend school, drive a car, own property or run a business.  They are not allowed to walk beside a man or even socialize with men.  Very few mosques anywhere in the world allow women to worship in the same room as the men.

Robert Spencer, Director of Jihad Watch, commented about the Park Service’s pro-Islamic videos, saying:

“Your tax dollars at work. I am looking forward to seeing the National Park Service videos praising the contributions of Judaism and Christianity to women’s rights.”

The producers of the videos also made sure that the Muslim students also brought up the topic of discrimination against Muslims as one of the students stated:

“A few years ago they made Eid, like a day for schools to close down and people could take a break. People were saying why should it be changed, this is a Christian country. We shouldn’t change for them. But if you look at the Constitution, there’s separation from state and church. So they’re saying if you’re going to go to an Arab country, they are not going to break for Christmas but over here we’re going to break for Eid and Ramada and stuff. It’s actual separation from state and church and they don’t understand that and they think since the majority of the U.S. is Christian that we shouldn’t be equal to other people.”

Notice how the student slams Christianity and blames it for all of the discriminatory woes of America’s Muslims.  The student fails to talk about how Christians in Muslim neighborhoods are losing all of their constitutional rights.  Places like Dearborn, Michigan and Murfreesboro, Tennessee have become Islamic enclaves and Christians in these communities are being persecuted almost like those in many Muslim controlled Middle East and Asian countries.

These pro-Islam videos must have been very important to the National Park Service since they were made during sequestration cuts.  BizPacReview commented:

“The National Park Service earlier this year prepared for sequestration budget cuts by closing visitor centers and furloughing park police – but still managed to produce videos promotion the virtues of Islam’s respect for women’s rights.”

“While roads reopened later … visitor centers remain shuttered and fewer seasonal workers are being hired, according to USA Today.  [But] in videos on the park’s website, children in an Islamic school … ‘discuss their experiences and challenges with negative Muslim stereotypes and assumptions.’”

“[The video claims to Islam’s creation of women’s rights] appears to contradict the ’10 reasons we hate women’s rights’ which the Muslim Brotherhood presented to the United Nations in March.”

“The most egregious aspect of the video is that it was funded with taxpayer dollars.”

This is just another clear example of how the Obama administration goes out of its way to promote Islam while at the same time blaming Christians and Jews for all of the world’s woes and stripping them of their rights.  You can’t have a Ten Commandments display on any government land or building, but the Park Service uses taxpayer dollars to produce and promote pro-Muslim videos.

I want to know where the ACLU, Freedom From Religion Foundation and Americans For The Separation Of Church And State are and why aren’t they filing lawsuits to stop this government promotion of a religion?  Obviously, there are two different standards in America today: one for Islam and one against Christianity and Judaism.
