Obama Decides It Is Time To Publicly Rape The Press, Starting With South Carolina

Absolutely, positively, without question NO!!!

Do we need to take up the Second Amendment to protect the First? Perhaps that day is coming much more quickly than I could have ever dreaded.

From the Fox News Channel Blog: “Gov’t Monitors in Newsrooms? FCC to Look Into Media Decision-Making.”

In a controversial move, the Obama administration is looking to send the FCC in to investigate how the media chooses stories. Shannon Bream reported this morning on the plan, which is quickly drawing criticism as a possible infringement on the freedom of the press.

The FCC has identified eight CINs, or key topics that the government believes should be covered.

The study was supposed to start this week in Columbia, South Carolina, but stations there say no FCC representatives have shown up yet.

And here is Investors’ Business Daily:

First Amendment: The FCC has cooked up a plan to place “researchers” in U.S. newsrooms, supposedly to learn all about how editorial decisions are made. Any questions as to why the U.S. is falling in the free press rankings?

As if illegal seizures of Associated Press phone records and the shadowy tailing of the mother of a Fox News reporter weren’t menacing enough, the Obama administration is going out of its way to institute a new intrusive surveillance of the press, as if the press wasn’t supine enough.

Do not let them in, media brethren. This is your Tiananmen Square. Stand in front of those “tanks,” and if necessary, lay down your lives for the freedom of the press. This is a moment that will not return, if you pull a Boehner and roll over.

You have seen what this Administration does—it promises one thing, and then turns it into something much different to suit its desires and purposes. As some of your brethren have admitted, this is one of the most closed, meddling, and controlling Administrations in history—perhaps the worst. You must stop them at the door on this one.

South Carolina friends… you see from the Fox article that some of your media are the first targets. You must call and sincerely encourage them to stand against this intrusion. Do not open the door wider to tyranny!
