Obama Fights for Homosexual Freedom but Not When it Comes to Islam

So I guess Russia is now the world’s largest homosexual free zone. And the entire liberal world is having a collective meltdown.

The new Russian law effectively bans everything homosexual, from holding hands or any public display of affection, to pro-homosexual speech or even anything with a rainbow. In other words, it is illegal to be homosexual in Russia. And this happens just months before the Winter Olympics come to Russia.

Many athletes are said to be quite upset about this and may boycott the games, although heterosexual male figure skaters should be pleased, providing there are any.

The law even stipulates that homosexuals or even their advocates can be arrested, detained for up to 14 days and expelled from the country.

Groups like Human Rights Watch have filed complaints with the IOC (International Olympic Committee). To date the IOC plans to take no action.

So why has Putin decided to take this hard-line stance? Is he that bigoted? Well, probably but that’s not entirely it. Others and I believe it to be more practical than that.

It’s a matter of population, or more to the point, population decline. Russian population has drastically declined since the fall of the Soviet Union. Putin feels this type of pro-hetero policy will turn things around.

Needless to say our recently converted pro-homosexual president is not pleased. I say recently converted because up until a few years ago Obama was in the pro-heterosexual camp, even coming out in favor of marriage between a man and woman only. Evidently he has “evolved.”

On the Tonight Show Obama proclaimed: “I’ve been very clear that when it comes to universal rights, when it comes to people’s basic freedoms, that whether you’re discriminating on the basis of race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation, you are violating the basic morality that I think should transcend every country,” Obama said. “I have no patience for countries that try to treat gays or lesbians or transgender persons in ways that intimidate them or are harmful to them.”

Sounds like he’s taken a hard-line against anti-homosexual bigots. Or has he?

Funny, but I don’t hear him taking that same stance against Islam or any Islamic countries or organizations. Islamic views on homosexuality are just a bit harsher than those of Putin.

According to the Koran homosexuality is not only a sin, but a crime against Allah. And that crime is dealt with rather more harshly than a 14-day detention and expulsion.

Within Sunni jurisprudence, which is the doctrine of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Hanafi school of thought dictates that a first offense is punishable by a beating. If the act is repeated it is punishable by death.

The Shafi’i school of thought requires a single person to be whipped 100 times, and if married, stoned to death.

But surely our enlightened president wouldn’t turn a blind eye to such acts from an organization he so clearly supports? Surely the Muslim Brotherhood, of whom several work at the White House, wouldn’t adhere to such barbarism?

If so our courageous leader would cut all ties, right? Wrong! As bothered as he is by Putin’s action, he gives the Brotherhood and Islam a pass.

As recent as 2011, 80% of Egyptian voters, led by the Brotherhood, were in favor of Shariah imposed death sentences for homosexuals. Yet knowing this (I know it; they must) they (the Obama administration) still embrace Brotherhood officials.

But with this administration, politics trumps all. I guess we shouldn’t expect any consistency.
