In case you are unaware Uwe, Hennelore Romeike and their children, a German homseschooling family that fled their home country. In Germany home schooling is apparently illegal. To avoid further prosecution they fled to the United States and requested asylum.
There is however another German homeschooling family that has not been so fortunate and that is an understatement. The Wunderlich family of Darmstadt Germany has made headlines also, at least in Europe.
The Wunderlich’s have been trying to homeschool their four children for years. German authorities had repeatedly harassed them. At one point they left Germany and settled in France at the home of a friend. But French authorities came and snatched the children claiming they were “left alone” and neglected.
After they regained custody, the family headed back to Germany, where things got a lot worse.
According to the HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense Association), Germany is party to many human rights treaties that recognize parents’ rights to homeschool according to their religious convictions.
Yet Germany has simply refused to abide by the agreement. Sound familiar? A government that refuses to uphold laws and treaties?
Last month a German Family Court judge signed an order and the government authorities sprung to action. Reminiscent of the SS a team of 20 police, special agents and social workers stormed the Wunderlich home in Darmstadt.
When the father saw a battering ram being carried to the front door he decided to open it. The armed officers rushed in and shoved him into a chair where he was ordered not to move. He said they treated him like a terrorist.
Then they seized the four children. When his distraught wife tried to hug and kiss her 14-year-old daughter goodbye one of the agents shoved her away and said, “It’s too late for that.”
German officials then took the children to an “undisclosed location” promising the parents, “they would not be seeing their children anytime soon.”
The Germans have evidently learned from the past as they confiscated everyone’s passport, children’s included.
Yes folks, this is for real. It is not a tale from Nazi Germany, and this is what they Romeike family has to look forward to, for the Obama administration is trying to deport the Romeike family, sending them back to Germany for certain harassment and prosecution. All for wanting to homeschool their children.
Despite a United States immigration judge granting the family asylum, Obama and the thugs of the Justice Department are fighting to deport the family.
Yes, Obama, the great friend of the immigrant wants to deport a family that is committing the crime of the century.
I have a suggestion for the Romeike family. Leave the country tomorrow. Go to Mexico. Change your names to Juan and Juanita Valdez and walk back across the border. No one will stop you. No one will ask why you’re here or check your papers. Settle in any liberal city you wish and enjoy America.
