Obama Wants to Throw Granny Under the Medicare Bus

How many times have we heard liberals claim that conservatives want to “throw granny under the bus” because we want to drastically reduce the government’s role in healthcare? Or, they’ll say that we want to “throw everybody out in the street” because we want to privatize Social Security. We point out that government policies and programs are the problem. They’ve been instrumental in impoverishing more people by creating widespread dependency. How many people do you think didn’t save enough money for their retirement years because Social Security would be there for them?

How many people do you think about what they ate or what they smoked or how they lived because Medicare would be there for them?

So who is really “throwing granny under the bus”?

We certainly aren’t. Our government is through socialist policies that aim to impoverish people in the middle and lower classes. It’s called “redistribution of wealth.” It’s also called being “fair.” Conservatives simply point out that private entities take care of people better and more efficiently than any government could. People are far more compassionate than government. In reality, we aren’t throwing these people out in the street to die, they are.

And this is how the game of politics is played. One side accuses the other of something that they themselves are guilty of, hoping that all the media attention will remain on the “accused” rather than the “accuser.” After all this talk about how Republicans, conservatives, and Tea Partiers want to “kill” Medicare because “Ryancare” proposes to cut $700 billion from its budget, what’s ignored is that Obamacare does the same thing but in a different way.

Obamacare cuts over $700 billion from Medicare’s budget and applies the “savings” to other socialized healthcare programs. And they propose to “save money” by rationing healthcare under the advice of the Independent Payment Advisory Board, a board created by Obamacare and comprised of 15 unelected government bureaucrats. And since they would be cutting payments to doctors, hospitals, and Medicare Advantage plans, healthcare providers would be getting even less than what they’re getting now. And to top it all off, Obamacare wants to raise new taxes to the tune of $1.5 trillion.

The Ryancare plan proposes to cut about the same amount from Medicare, and these savings would go toward deficit reduction. What the Democrats won’t tell you is that the Medicare cuts under Ryancare only apply to those who are younger than 55 years old. And even then, all it does is give these younger Medicare beneficiaries options either to continue with traditional Medicare or to opt for a government-approved private insurance plan.

Obamacare’s Medicare cuts are all across the board, effecting older retirees as well as those under 55, something that DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz apparently couldn’t get in an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. In spite of Blitzer’s repeated attempts to clarify Ryan’s proposal, Schultz demanded that Ryan’s plan would “end Medicare as we know it.”

As the liberal hypocrisy and lies continue, I’m reminded of what my grandmother used to tell my grandpa when he’d embellish a story for increased entertainment value: The truth is bad enough.
