The Opiate of the Homeless: Free Marijuana Samples

Every industry has an organization that promotes its product, from Florida oranges to beef. Typically, these are organized as non-profits that promote the benefits of the product as a public service. While the people in the industry do usually believe  that their product is beneficial, the fact remains that these non-profits exist to do well by “doing good.” With that in mind, consider this story from the Washington Times: “Charity gives free marijuana joints to homeless in Denver on Christmas Read more […]

‘Workplace Violence’ Crashes Planned Parenthood Pity Party

It’s been a week for juxtapositions, that’s for sure. First, a lone nut with a history of philandering, spousal abuse, drug usage, animal abuse and sexual deviancy, who seems to have had no contact with any church or any pro-life group, kills people near a Planned Parenthood clinic, utters the phrase “no more baby parts” and becomes an oxymoronic symbol for “Christian terrorism.” Then a married Muslim couple who recently spent a month in Saudi Arabia, who officials say had been “radicalized” Read more […]

Planned Parenthood Clinic in Colorado Springs Attacked

On what started out as a relaxing day after Thanksgiving, tragedy broke in Colorado Springs, CO, yesterday. Here’s the report from The Washington Post: A suspect is in police custody following an hours-long shooting standoff at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, where at least one police officer and two civilians were killed Friday. “The perpetrator is in custody,” Mayor John Suthers declared just after 5 p.m. Mountain time — more than five hours after an active shooter was Read more […]

Colorado Reaches for the Goal of Obamacare

The goal of Obamacare is reached by making healthcare less affordable. Economic ignorance, political superstition, and engineered desperation have reached a predictable endgame in Colorado. The Denver Post reports, “Colorado to vote on single-payer state health-care system.” Colorado voters will decide next year whether this state should be the first to pay for comprehensive health care for residents. Proponents of a single-payer state system gathered enough signatures to put ColoradoCare on Read more […]

Failed Obamacare Co-Ops Add to the Cost of the “Affordable Care Act”

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, there’s more to be upset about in regard to Obamacare. After the Affordable Care Act was passed and the government started  setting up healthcare.gov, there were some areas where there weren’t many insurers, so Congress set up healthcare co-ops to insert some competition into those areas to make sure there were affordable options.  So we see that from the beginning, the idea of a government healthcare plan was bad for the economy.  It was so bad Read more […]

Medical Marijuana is Protected from the Department of Justice

The fight over legalizing marijuana has been long.  From the early days, marijuana used for medical treatment has been considered differently than that which is used recreationally.  As early as 1996, California approved marijuana for medical use, and, today there are 16 states total that have legalized the drug for medical use.  And now, nearly 20 years later, Colorado, Alaska, Oregon, and Washington have some sort of legalized marijuana for recreational use as well. On Monday, October 19, Read more […]

Teen Women Recruited for Terrorist Group

The internet is alluring.  It draws almost everyone into something.  For some it is shoe shopping.  For others it is a terrorist training program, as Liz Goodwin wrote about for Yahoo Politics. Three girls from a Denver suburb who ditched school, left their families and their friends in search of  a more exciting future, found out the hard way that there are better ways to make life decisions than asking the internet. They believed Syria would be a utopian place of freedom and safety for Read more […]

Another Defeat of the First Amendment in Court

A baker lost his case that he had a First Amendment right not to support a same-sex “marriage.” We have judges in this country who are completely committed to emptying the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. We get to see another instance of this in the ruling, yesterday, against Jack C. Phillips, the owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop in suburban Denver. A three-judge panel claimed that he was guilty of discrimination for refusing to make a wedding cake for two men. What makes this ruling extra Read more […]

Did the EPA Pollute the River on Purpose?

Could the EPA pollute a river and get away with it? If so, why WOULDN’T they do it intentionally if it served their interests? BP got punished for polluting the Gulf of Mexico, whereas nothing is happening to the EPA for the pollution they caused. What would have happened to BP if they had caused the oil spill and this was discovered? Why do I ask such questions? Because there is evidence that the EPA polluted the river on purpose. Here are the five salient facts brought to light in this Read more […]

Megan McArdle: Free Contraceptives Is Not a Method for Reducing Abortion

Free contraceptives might or might not make some kind of difference in the abortion rate but there is no way to know how big a difference or which way. Megan McArdle has weighed into a debate started with Ross Douthat blasting the idea of free and available birth control reducing the abortion rate. McArdle gives her own evaluation as an economist: But on this issue – not whether abortion should be legal, but whether the main thing standing between America and fewer abortions is better government Read more […]

Colorado Concealed Carrier Brings Gun to a Knife Attack

Even though he was at a church, this concealed carrier was prepared to save a woman’s life. While Colorado has been a place of intense attacks on the Second Amendment, a woman is alive today because of a concealed carrier in Boulder. The Daily Camera reports, “Boulder police: Armed witness rescued woman from attempted murder outside church.” An enraged drunken man had a knife to his estranged wife’s throat as she said what she thought was her final prayer before dying. He had already Read more […]

Colorado Supreme Court Makes Wrong Decision on Marijuana

The Colorado Supreme Court affirms freedom for businesses, but only under Government Control. I don’t know that I agree with the way Dish Network treated their former employee Brandon Coats. In fact, it seems kind of cruel to me, if it is true that Coats had a real medical need. According to the Denver Post, Coats became quadriplegic in a car accident and used marijuana to control leg spasms. He had a medical marijuana card and consumed pot off-duty. He was fired in 2010 after failing a random Read more […]
