Fired for Sharing His Faith!

It began as a normal day for Chris Routson as he prepared to go to work, until he received a phone call instructing him to come in a few hours later than normal. Chris worked at the Middletown, Ohio, Precision Strip metal processing plant for 13 years with a good employment standing. Four years ago he came to faith in Jesus Christ and began eagerly sharing his new-found faith with everyone, including his coworkers. One way he did that was through Facebook, so he had a wide circle, many of them Read more […]

The King Has Come

In ancient times, palm branches symbolized goodness and victory. They were often depicted on coins and important buildings. The Triumphal entry of our Lord Jesus into Jerusalem on the day we call Palm Sunday is an event which tremendous import on two accounts.  First, it had political implications, not only for that day, but for ours as well.  Second, for the evidence it gives us that this Book the Bible, is what it claims to be, that the Bible alone is the inspired Word of God. The Meaning Read more […]

Eternal Life at Yard-Sale Prices

“And the king said unto Araunah, “Nay; but I will surely buy it from thee at a price; neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the Lord my God of that which doth cost me nothing.”  -2 Samuel 24:24. Cheap grace: just another way of describing the Gospel that is being peddled by the neo-evangelicals. A costless Christianity. Eternal life at wholesale-club prices. Jesus loves everybody, don’t you know?  The churches are full of “saved” people.  Folks who have tipped-their-toe Read more […]

Sin Killed the American Dream

The American dream is not dead for economic reasons alone. The American Dream used to include thoughts of retirement, where one could live off the fruits of a lifetime of toil and enjoy family, friends, and maybe a bit of travel to see the world. Now, many of us have absolutely no thought of ever stopping, and will be in the workforce until no one will pay us anymore. No doubt virtually all of us should be putting away more than we are, rather than spending everything we earn today, but Read more […]

Homosexual Activism Is Forcing Christians to Take a Stand

Forcing Christians to affirm and celebrate “gay marriage” will make them into people who resist. A headline in the Washington Post reads, “‘Relationship with Jesus’ doesn’t justify florist’s refusal to serve gay couple, judge rules.” “Religious motivation does not excuse compliance with the law,” …said the rulers, elders, scribes, Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the family of the high priest (compare). We will not merely Read more […]

No Jesus, No Rights!

If there is no Jesus there are no rights. Imagine you were playing football against a very determined opponent and a new rule was introduced. According to this new rule of play, your team could actually never have possession of the football. Every time you received a kick-off, or recovered a fumble, or intercepted a pass, or even when you took over on downs, play would stop immediately and possession of the ball would be returned to the other team. In this scenario you couldn’t possibly Read more […]

Pray with Your Legs!

“God so loved the world that HE DID SOMETHING!!” That is what it said on the bumper sticker I used to have on my car.  The car is gone and so is the bumper sticker.  But I think it makes a very valid point. Our faith should call Christians to get off of their buttocks.  I am sick and tired of spectator-Christianity.  The Holy Spirit of God should inspire us to action.  Every where we look the enemies of the cross are advancing their agenda.  Christians, on the other hand, leave everything Read more […]

God’s Law: Divine Directions

I filed for the County Council campaign this past Monday in the 5th district of Anne Arundel County. It is interesting to watch some of the reactions. There are those who decry my campaign claiming I would impose a theocracy upon our county. It would appear that they think my belief system is a danger to their liberty. That somehow believing, as our Founders did, that there is a Creator God, the God of the Bible and that our Rights come from Him and that the sole purpose of human civil government Read more […]

Atheists Have A Lot To Thank Jesus For

An atheist blogger recently stated something for the sake of his fellow atheists and other nonchristians. He wrote: If you’re not the sort who’s grateful to Jesus for your eternal salvation, let me suggest a down-to-earth reason to remember Baby Jesus this Christmas season. Thank him for universal literacy. Jesus was Jewish, and that meant he was devoted to the written word in a way that no fatherless laborer in any gentile land would have been. Through the sect that Jesus founded, he passed Read more […]

Boy Scouts Vote to Compromise Their Values

Growing up in the 1950s and 60s, Boy Scouts was an important part of my family’s life.  My dad served as a troop leader and a scouting commissioner.  Dad was very athletic and taught canoeing, swimming, life guarding, rope climbing, knot tying and first aid among other things.  One of the things that dad always stressed was to lead an honest and moral life and believe in God, Jesus and the Bible.  He was always popular and well-liked by the scouts, their parents and other leaders. My mom Read more […]

DJesus Uncrossed: Saturday Night Live Mocks and Blasphemes Jesus Christ

Saturday Night Live has a long history of irreverence towards many different things.  They have targeted people, corporations and countries.  Sadly, they have a large following of viewers that also have very low moral standards and support a number of liberal views. On February 16, the NBC program went beyond the realms of irreverence to outright blasphemy.  A skit that aired that night wall called ‘DJesus Uncrossed.’  It was an obvious spoof of the highly racist movie ‘Django Unchanged.’  Read more […]
