Porngate Shows Us What Kind of People Rule Us

The audio in the above video could be better, but the basic point is that the Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane, who is in some legal trouble at the moment, has exposed others in a scandal. According to the Washington Post, There are jokes about rape and sexual assault, photos mocking African Americans and other minorities, and insults leveled at people because of their weight, their sexual orientation or their religion. At least two state Supreme Court justices and numerous officials Read more […]

Christmas Banned in Bethlehem

The town is Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Gotta love the irony. The Daily Caller reports, The town named after the birthplace of Jesus Christ has banned signs celebrating the holidays at an intersection in the town that has become a local battleground for the War on Christmas. Officials from Bethlehem, New York had a “Happy Hanukkah” sign and a “Merry Christmas” sign removed from a busy intersection and have refused to put up any new holiday signs out of fear the signs would be breaking Read more […]

You Can’t Please Everybody–Hunting Nun Causes a Stir

I grew up in western Pennsylvania, not far from St. Mary’s where Sister John Paul Bauer is from.  A few days back, a Facebook friend from my childhood posted a photo of the hunting nun that he found on the Facebook page for the Hunting Pennsylvania community.  Sister John Paul bagged her buck on opening day of deer season, which is always the Monday after Thanksgiving.  Anyone from western Pennsylvania knows when opening day is because, even if you don’t hunt, you get the day off from school. The Drive for Ethnic Diversity Takes a Wrong Turn

For the most part, the lack of ethnic diversity  at Clarion University of Pennsylvania and in the surrounding area doesn’t matter too much.  But earlier this month, it became the cause of disappointment to a group of students there and a source of economic trial to the University itself. The Pittsburgh Post Gazette reported that the theatre department of the University was forced to cancel its fall play.  From the Gazette: Student actors and the stage crew at Clarion University arrived Tuesday Read more […]

No Men’s Barbershops Allowed!

Men’s barbershops are a violation of human rights. Be thankful the government is here to save us! Over a year ago, Mark Horne posted about a Colorado bar that catered to “bears”—a certain kind of hyper-masculine homosexual subculture. This bar allegedly turned away a homosexual male who was dressed as a woman. They said it was because his driver’s license didn’t match his appearance and they wanted to avoid trouble with the government. He claimed it was “discrimination.” Colorado’s Read more […]

New Yorkers Want to Secede from New York

Fifteen towns are reporting interest in how they might secede from prohibitions on hydraulic fracturing and high taxes. Here’s the report from WBNG 12 Action News: “Southern Tier towns looking to cut NY ties.” [See also, “Some Hawaiians Side with Secession instead of Federal Money.”] The local economy is pushing one organization in Upstate New York to pose a question: Is it possible to secede to Pennsylvania? The Upstate New York Towns Association is researching this very topic. Read more […]

Pennsylvania Alcohol Revenue Regime Grabs Wine Collection

The Keystone State’s alcohol revenue regime means that couples can be robbed for building and sharing a wine collection. Prohibition is alive and well. At Reason.com, Baylen Linnekin writes about the seizure of an $160,000 wine collection from a married couple: Earlier this year, after a months-long undercover investigation, Pennsylvania state police agents served a warrant on the home of Arthur Goldman, an attorney, and his wife, Melissa Kurtzman. The police, who had made undercover Read more […]

Democrat Corruptocrats Look Out for One Another

When Attorney Generals refuse to prosecute crimes by fellow members of their party, they reveal themselves to be standard Democrat Corruptocrats. Looks like the Pennsylvania Attorney General, Kathleen Kane, is an “A” student in the Eric Holder School of Protecting Corruption through Partisan Law. [See also, “It’s Time to Push for Impeachment Proceedings against Eric Holder.”] Thus we read in the Daily Signal: “Two Pa. Legislators Indicted for Voter ID Bribes in a Case the State Read more […]

Pennsylvania Tea Party Victory? Not Quite, Sadly

I don’t know if any of the legislators pushing this agenda consider themselves Pennsylvania Tea Party or not, but the agenda certainly seems Tea Party friendly at first glance. Fox News reported, One year and five months — that’s how long bipartisan legislation that would eliminate school property taxes in Pennsylvania has been stuck in the Pennsylvania Senate’s Finance Committee. “It seems like we’ve been pushing it for years,” said state Sen. David Argall, the Schuylkill Read more […]

Debtor’s Prison for a Child’s Truancy Ends with Mother’s Death

Back in December of last year I posted about the re-invention of “debtor’s prison.” I noted it was often happening in response to fines that people were unable to pay. So it has happened again and the accused ended up paying all she had. She died. A Pennsylvania mother of seven died in a jail cell where she was serving a two-day sentence for her children’s absence from school, drawing complaints from the judge that sent her there about a broken system that punishes impoverished parents. Eileen Read more […]

Pennsylvania AG Uses “Racism” Smear to Cover Up Corruption

Kathleen Kane is the Attorney General of Pennsylvania and she is a Democrat. She succeed a Republican AG, Tom Corbett. While in office, Tom Corbett discovered Democrat Philadelphia-area legislators were taking bribes. (Yes, I know. How shocking to find corruption in such an upright city.) The bribes were in exchange for voting against voter-ID laws. The problem is that while Corbett found the evidence and made the charges, he didn’t get to actually bring the case to court before his time in Read more […]

Government Outsources Gangsterism In Philadelphia

Government doesn’t always tyrannize us by its own soldiers. Sometimes it simply refuses to see when one group in society dominates and exploits another group. From Philly.com: “10 leaders of Ironworkers Local 401 charged in racketeering indictment.” They called themselves “the Helpful Union Guys” – “THUGS” for short – and woe awaited any contractor who dared cross them by hiring non-organized workers. For, federal authorities alleged Tuesday, this “goon squad” of members of Ironworkers Read more […]
