The Left: You Gotta Trust the Spies and Hacks

In God we trust. Remember that?

That’s on the way out, of course, pushed to the edges of the new coins. The real slogan is “In Obama we trust.” And it is absolutely unapologetic, unquestioning, blind trust.

Think about what we’ve learned in the past few weeks.

The IRS has been targeting the Tea Party and other conservative groups for political harassment and punishment.

The military has been plotting a crackdown on Christians who evangelize that would put Bible-believing troops at risk of court-martial for sharing their faith.

The White House was deeply involved in rewriting the CIA’s Benghazi talking points to hide from the public the fact that known terrorist groups were involved.

The Department of Homeland Security has been secretly “investigating” the Associated Press, Fox News and probably other media outlets that have not done the White House’s bidding.

The NSA has been indiscriminately collecting the phone records of millions of Americans who are not even suspected of wrongdoing.

The NSA’s Prism program allows the federal government to walk into the servers and databases of at least nine of the top tech companies and access “audio and video chats, photographs, e-mails, documents, and connection logs,” according to the Washington Post. As a whistleblower said, “They quite literally can watch your ideas form as you type.”

That’s just the past few weeks, not to mention all the previous scandals of the Administration.

And yet, the Left would have us trust this government with our medical records and with drones flying over our heads.

“It’s called protecting America,” huffed Sen. Dianne Feinstein, whose most recent effort to protect America involved a plan to disarm its citizens.

“Nobody is listening to your telephone calls,” said President Obama, who has also claimed that he said from the beginning that Benghazi was terrorism, despite documentation that he did otherwise.

So if all of this is allegedly for our protection, why don’t we feel safe?
