In June, photos of the bloody, lifeless child of Feng Jianmei and her husband Deng Jiyuan, murdered by the brutal Chinese Communist government in the seventh month of pregnancy, went viral, and worldwide condemnation of China’s “one-child” policy was swift. The forced late-term abortion conducted by Communist Chinese population-control thugs became an international scandal highlighting the regime’s brutality.
The Chinese despots responded by beating and persecuting Deng.
Rep. Christopher Smith (R-N.J.), a longtime critic of the Communist Chinese regime’s myriad crimes against humanity, conducted hearings before the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Human Rights and International Programs last week.
Despite the fact that American law prohibits spending taxpayer money on initiatives or organizations that support or participate in forced abortions, President Obama has become increasingly bold in his refusal to execute the laws created under Article One of the Constitution. Earlier, Obama had restored U.S. government funding for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
Testifying before the Smith Committee, Steven Mosher, President of the Population Research Institute (PRI) demonstrated that the UN is working with the communist dictatorship ruling mainland China to enforce its barbaric “one-child” policy, deploying an arsenal of totalitarian tactics: forced abortions, involuntary sterilization, kidnapping of “illegal” children, and other human rights abuses.
U.S. taxpayers should permanently halt funding to this and other global anti-population agencies, Mosher warned.
Mosher spent years in China observing mass abuses such as those being perpetrated by the UNFPA and its communist partners in Beijing, before being kicked out of the PhD program by Stanford University, and then denied re-entry by the Communist Chinese, even though he was married to a woman from the Guangdong province. He published his observations in the 1983 book, Broken Earth.
Also offering testimony was a victim of the Chinese regime’s “population control” who was kidnapped by the “family planning” officials before having her baby murdered in cold blood.
“Our conclusion is that the UNFPA is directly responsible for forced abortions and forced sterilizations in China,” Mosher told legislators in a prepared statement, citing an investigation carried out over the last three years. “China’s one-child policy constitutes the longest-running and most far-reaching violation of human rights the world has ever seen. Four hundred million Chinese children are missing because of this policy.”
