Against the Leftist Race Baiters

Leftist race baiters are trying to manufacture grievances to justify hatred.

I had no intention of sharing Paul Joseph Watson’s video when I first saw it. It was true enough, and completely fair to law-abiding African Americans like those people who were brutally murdered yesterday in Charleston South Carolina. But it just didn’t seem to be the right time to talk about black crime statistics.

I had not yet run into any of the Left’s insane race baiters and thus had no real understanding of why Watson felt compelled to make the video in the first place.

Then Phil Hodges at led me to this insane article at Salon, “Charleston church massacre: The violence white America must answer for,” by Chauncey DeVega.

He lists eight questions. Here are the first three:

  1. What is radicalizing white men to commit such acts of domestic terrorism and mass shootings? Are Fox News and the right-wing media encouraging violence?
  2. Is something wrong with the white family? Why are their sons and men so violent?
  3. What should law enforcement and white politicians do about white crime?

So suddenly, Watson’s video seems a lot more important:

I will add one other point. These are the same kinds of people who insist we can never link Islam and terrorism. Amazingly, DeVega actually raises the issue:

The headline on the breaking news report about the Charleston shooting was an additional example of how the White Racial Frame dominates news coverage. MSNBC’s screen read “Police searching for 21-year-old suspect.” He was not described as “white”: the American news media is much more likely to racially mark black and brown suspects in crimes, and to include their racial description (or religious/ethnic as in the ubiquitous ”Arab” or “Muslim” “terrorist.”

The fact that this was a white on black massacre was all over the news. DeVega needs to stop making stuff up that he wants to believe to satisfy his rage over being the victim of injustice in a racist society. But seriously, is there anything like as much connection between whites and crime (let alone whites and terrorism) as there is between Islam and terrorism?

Yet it is racism to make the link between Islam and terrorism. It is racism even though people commonly recognize that a white convert to Islam could just as easily become an Islamic terrorist, so there is really no racial component at all. But claiming that there is something wrong with the white family on the basis of white criminality without any acknowledgment of the vast statistical discrepancies that Watson mentions above? That’s totally fine.

The truth is that no one bears the guilt of other people, even if (hypothetically) they belong to a group in which the majority is guilty. If my last name happened to be Roof, the actions of Dylann Roof would still not have a thing to do with me. The same is true of my shared physical trait with him of being pasty.

Likewise, the people killed were guiltless human beings who had nothing to do with the crimes of other people who happened to be of the same skin color. The victims of that shooting are no more guilty of the blacks who play the knockout game then they are guilty of Roof’s crime.

Salon needs to stop trying to manufacture a blood feud. Stop giving a platform to race baiters.
