The Alternative to Monogamy is Sickness

About that recent article I posted, responding to people saying monogamy should be scrapped… um…

From CNS News: “Chlamydia Sets U.S. Record For Most Cases of Reportable Disease.”

A total of 1,422,976 new cases of Chlamydia trachomatis were reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in 2012, “the largest number of reported cases for any notifiable disease in the U.S.,” a CDC spokeswoman told

A list of the National Notifiable Infectious Conditions that are reported by 57 state and territorial jurisdictions can be found on CDC’s website.

Approximately 110 million Americans – more than a third of the entire U.S. population – were infected with a sexually transmitted disease (STD) as of 2008, the latest date for which figures are available, the CDC spokeswoman confirmed.

CDC estimates that nearly 20 million new STD cases are contracted annually, including gonorrhea (334,826 new cases reported in 2012), HIV (47,500 new cases reported in 2010), and primary and secondary syphilis (15,667 new cases in 2012).

They cost the nation nearly $16 billion in health care costs annually.

Young people aged 15 to 24 account for 50 percent of all new venereal infections even though they make up just 25 percent of the sexually active population, the CDC notes.

If you’re playing the field, you’re likely already a statistic. Even if it was “one time”… your “partner” may have provided “a gift that will keep on giving.”

By the way, the majority with Chlamydia don’t even know they have it, and it often causes permanent infertility. In the past, it’s commonly believed for every case reported, there are at least two more people out there unknowingly passing it on.

Yeah, God made us to be monogamous because He’s a killjoy, and wants to keep us from having fun. Uh huh, sure. Right. Keep telling yourself that. Especially when you have no idea—no idea—how much joy and fun there is in knowing, and basking in the love of the One who made you, and living life as He ordained.

CDC pointed out that STDs can be prevented by not having sex or being in a “long-term monogamous relationship” with a partner who is not infected.

Wow, really? Who would have ever guessed that?

P.S. Hey, Congressional Black Caucus, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton…you *really* want to help the Black community? Read the statistics in this piece, and get out there and confront this massive, massive problem. 1600% more likely to contract syphlis, and 680% more likely to get Chlamydia… that’s not a “racism” problem, that’s a problem of personal and community spirituality and morality. Aren’t some of you guys supposedly “reverends”?

Your community is being destroyed through casual, unmarried sex–which leads to many other problems. It’s not the color of their skin, it’s the content of their character.

I’d love to help, too—because I share the same race (it’s called “human”)—but you’ve poisoned many of their minds with incessant talk about racism, to the point many of them won’t listen to me. So… get busy on something truly productive… how ’bout it?
