We have an international event in which Muslims are killing Christians and the President won’t acknowledge it as real persecution.
I’ve written before about both George W. Bush’s and Barack Obama’s lack of action on behalf of the persecuted church.
Now Kirsten Powers nails it in regard to Obama.
From USA Today: “Christians thrown overboard left to drown by Obama.”
What do you call it when 12 men are drowned at sea for praying to Jesus?
Answer: Religious persecution.
Yet, when a throng of Muslims threw a dozen Christians overboard a migrant ship traveling from Libya to Italy, Prime Minister Matteo Renzi missed the opportunity to label it as such. Standing next to President Obama at their joint news conference Friday, Renzi dismissed it as a one-off event and said, “The problem is not a problem of (a) clash of religions.”
While the prime minister plunged his head into the sand, Italian authorities arrested and charged the Muslim migrants with “multiple aggravated murder motivated by religious hate,” according to the BBC.
Here are the words of Jesus about any claim that Obama makes about being a Christian, as recorded in Matthew 7:15-23
Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.
Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?” And then will I declare to them, “I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.”
The President says he is a Christian, but if you take all of his public statements about Islam and about Christianity and put them into one YouTube, I think you’d make a very different assessment, given who he defends, and who he… throws overboard.
Ever seen the President attend the opening of a Christian Church? Hopefully he won’t attend this event, either—it would be a tragic mistake. But, at the time of this writing, he is expected to attend the opening of a Mosque.
One brief disclaimer: Kirsten Powers is a somewhat recent convert to Christianity and is growing fast… though she has a lot of discipleship left to do (as do we all!!). I pray she continues to assess all her former beliefs based on new convictions and understandings.
