Can Rand Paul Make the Establishment Admit it’s Open Crimes in Syria?

Watching this video from CNN, I cannot believe the pushback Rand Paul is getting into this interview. We are supposed to forget all past history, and “deal with the current situation” as if learning from past mistakes (a way too charitable word) is somehow naïve.

The real offense of the modern totalitarianism of the modern warfare state is the humiliation involved. I compare our situation to the original Star Wars movie wherein the Death Star was under the command of a dark, death-faced villain with fearsome supernatural powers.

In the real world the Death Star is piloted by committees made up of morons who claim that if we had taken out Assad then “ISIS would have been stopped in its tracks”—along with a stenographer media functioning as their PR agents.

The horror of modern totalitarian imperialism is not the pain, killing, and slavery (all of that is a time-honored tradition) but the humiliation of how it is served up to us.

Yeah, I’m looking at you, Candy Crowley!

As related,

“We went into Libya and we got rid of that terrible Qaddafi, now it’s a jihadist wonderland over there,” Paul said. “There’s jihadists everywhere. If we were to get rid of Assad it would be a jihadist wonderland in Syria. It’s now a jihadist wonderland in Iraq, precisely because we got over-involved.”

“You have to ask yourself, are you willing to send your son, am I willing to send my son to retake back a city, Mosul, that they weren’t willing to defend themselves?” Paul said. “I’m not willing to send my son into that mess.”

And then this from Crowley: “So should we go to Syria?  I mean, the thing is, we kind of are where we are.  So, the question is whether they’re a threat.”

She repeated some version of this several times in the interview. There is nothing to learn from the past. There is nothing to learn about how competent we are at making positive change in the Middle East through weapons, money, and putting our troops in harm’s way. None of that matters; as we bounce from US manufactured crisis to US manufactured crisis decisive “leadership” always demands that we repeat the same idiocy in response to the crises produced by our own idiocy.

These terrorists taking over Iraq are a direct result of our support for the terrorists in Syria. The fact they can now breach Iraq is a direct result of us taking a viable secular dictatorship and turning it into a failed Shiite dictatorship.

Get out of Iraq, Syria, and the rest of the Middle East!
