First Amendment: Use it or Lose It

Free Expression, often referred to as “freedom of speech,” is a basic right given by United States Constitution in the First Amendment.  This freedom was fundamental to protests through our history that have changed laws that have ultimately saved lives.  Whether is was the women of the suffragette movement or the African Americans of the Civil Rights movement, the First Amendment gave all who had something to say the right to do so. But more than on picket lines and in protest marches, the Read more […]

ACLU Sues Catholic Hospitals to Force Them to Abort Babies

The government should force Catholic hospitals to perform abortions; that’s the ACLU version of civil liberties. We were given notice by the ACLU that, now that same-sex “marriage” supposedly exists and is a civil right, they didn’t believe in freedom of religion or freedom of conscience, anymore. In fact, they just don’t believe in freedom, period. According to CNS News, “ACLU Sues Catholic Hospital System for Refusing to Perform Abortions.” The American Civil Liberties Union Read more […]

New World Order Recruits a Global Police Force

U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch announced at the United Nations on Wednesday that the Department of Justice would be working with several major metropolitan police forces, starting with New York, to create a globe-girdling police force targeting “violent extremism.” Yee-haw. It’s on like Donkey Kong. New York Mayor Bill de Blasio made it clear that his city has joined 25 other cities worldwide because the global police force will target “intolerance.” “The Strong Cities network will Read more […]

Tinder Hates Billboards about STDs. Tough!

Tinder is actually trying to censor a service providing free STD testing because they warn about hazards of using the Tinder App. I thought we lived in a country that had a First Amendment. But some people don’t think so, according to the L.A. Times: “Tinder demands removal of L.A. billboard that tells dating app users to get STD test.” Tinder has sent a cease and desist letter to the AIDS Healthcare Foundation after a billboard went up in Los Angeles last week that draws a link between Read more […]

Charlie Hebdo Insults Are Legal but a Politician is on Trial for Objecting to Overwhelming Muslim Immigration

If you are concerned about the cultural implications of Muslim immigration, the French government will prosecute you. On January 8 of this year our writers began posting about Charlie Hebdo and free speech. The reason for this was Islamic mass murder of a rather vile publication called Charlie Hebdo. Vile or not, they were killed for what they wrote and published and drew as cartoons. So the French public, Europe, and the Western world went on a giant collective rant of words and symbolic gestures Read more […]

Federal Court: First Amendment Can’t Be Compromised by Obamacare Birth Control Mandate

The Obamacare birth control mandate is an unconstitutional burden on non-profit companies with a religious objection. The Obama Administration has shown a vigorous commitment to keep the Obamacare birth control mandate imposed on everyone. But a Federal court looked at the Bill of Rights and reminded the White House that it is still the law of the land. The Hill reports, A federal appeals court on Thursday ruled against ObamaCare’s birth control mandate in a decision that could invite a Supreme Read more […]

The Campaign to Criminalize Climate Change Dissent

A group of scientists are petitioning Barack Obama to criminalize climate change dissent by prosecuting the dissenters under RICO law. Since most scientists in the United States and the Western countries generally are a pack of welfare dependents, this request amounts to the government asking itself to expand its power. “Science” is now a government-industry that has massively expanded since WWII through the state university system as well as through funding for “research.” So these Read more […]

Christians Should Not Abuse the First Amendment

The First Amendment does not require other people to endorse or even help us endorse our values—even if they are running a business. I was really happy to see this headline from a Roman Catholic blog: “Refusal to Print Pro-Life Flyer is Rude but Legal.” So Office Depot refused to print a flier outlining some public facts about Planned Parenthood, in particular its funding. The flier also contained a prayer for the conversion of Planned Parenthood, along with a call for prayer and fasting. […] Office Read more […]

Parody Twitter Account User Gets Settlement for SWAT Raid

Peoria must pay out $125,000 because the mayor felt he had the right to use the police force against a parody Twitter account. Back in April of 2014, Mark Horne posted about how the police raided the home of a parody Twitter account that mocked the mayor. The mayor was the driving force behind the raid. He basically used the police as his personal palace guard. Now it seems that the taxpayers of Peoria are going to have to pay out. At Reason.com, we read: Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis’ illegal retaliation Read more […]

Why a County Clerk is Different than the DMV

People are making false equivalences in their reasoning about what Kim Davis should do as a Christian who holds the office of County Clerk. Someone posted this picture on Facebook: This is funny (and makes a good point about the impossibility of pluralism and multiculturalism) but it misses the issue confronting Kim Rowan. The DMV is not run by a person elected by voters. The people staffing the DMV have no constituents. They are simply employees who can be fired for failing to do their Read more […]

While Kentucky Lets a County Clerk Go to Jail, North Carolina Protects Religious Freedom

Many North Carolina civil magistrates refuse to participate in same sex “marriage,” but their religious freedom hasn’t been terminated. If you think the jailing of Kim Davis was unavoidable, unless she submitted to the Supreme Court as her Lord and Savior, here is evidence that you are wrong. YWFF 4 reports: “Dozens of N.C. magistrates refuse to perform gay marriages.” The number of North Carolina magistrates recusing themselves from performing civil marriages under a new law has more Read more […]

Tax Exempt Organizations Fight to Hide Donors from Government

Tax Exempt Organizations have asked the Supreme Court to give them relief from California’s prying eyes. We all know now that a single political donation can get a CEO fired from the company he founded. That is why Mark Horne argued that the IRS should be abolished on First and Fourth Amendment grounds. The lesson here is that the plundering done by the IRS is not their worst feature. If all they did was loot us, we would be immeasurably better off. The IRS is another form of the NSA. They Read more […]
