Cecile Richards lied to Congress, pretending she has never heard of babies surviving abortion.
Cecile Richards, the president of Planned Parenthood, has so completely unpeopled the unborn in her own mind that she can’t even acknowledge the existence of abortion survivors. Thus, the Daily Signal’s recent headline, “Cecile Richards Has ‘Never Heard’ of Abortion Survivors. Here Are Two.
One survivor mentioned in the Daily Signal post is Melissa Ohden.
A bucket of formaldehyde in a utility closet was meant to be my fate after I survived my abortion attempt,” Ohden said, according to The Blaze. “I deserved the same equal protection under the law as all of you.”
The other survivor was Gianna Jessen, whom I posted about earlier.
Both Ohden and Jessen were meant to be aborted by their mothers and the “doctors” but somehow they both survived the procedures and, more amazing, managed to evade a surreptitious infanticide once they were born alive.
They also both testified before Congress after hearings were held in response to the videos made and published by the Center for Medical Progress. Yet we are supposed to believe that the chief officer of the nation’s largest abortion machine not only is unaware of abortion survivors as a PR embarrassment in general, but didn’t even bother to follow what was happening in the hearings about her organization.
She is obviously lying.
And she lied about Planned Parenthood following rules about when they abort:
Yes, I mean, I certainly … I can say that at Planned Parenthood, I am aware of no instance where—we don’t provide abortions after viability. So … but it certainly, in my experience at Planned Parenthood, we haven’t ever had that kind of circumstance.”
That is laughable. As Kirsten Powers pointed out, the videos make it clear that Planned Parenthood does abortions into the second trimester. No one on those videos made any distinction between early second trimester and later in the second trimester. Planned Parenthood “clinics” in Florida were busted for doing illegal second trimester abortions. (That doesn’t necessarily mean Florida’s Planned Parenthood is unique. It might only mean that Florida was unique in conducting real inspections without giving advance warning.)
Sadly, no one in the media is going to hunt through messages from Cecile Richards to find proof that she is lying. Catching Richards in a falsehood is not a media priority. Repeating those falsehoods to us is their only priority.
