CIA Spied on the Senate and Now Admits to It

What the CIA chief formerly dismissed as “beyond the scope of reason” is now confirmed as true.

From the National Journal: “CIA Admits to Hacking Senate Computers.”

The Central Intelligence Agency improperly and covertly hacked into computers used by Senate staffers to investigate the spy agency’s Bush-era interrogation practices, according to an internal investigation.

CIA Director John Brennan has determined that employees “acted in a manner inconsistent with the common understanding” brokered between the CIA and its Senate overseers, according to agency spokesman Dean Boyd.

The stunning admission follows a scathing, 40-minute speech by Senate Intelligence Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein on the Senate floor back in March, in which she accused the CIA of secretly accessing her panel’s computers that were used to review documents related to the government’s torture, detention, and rendition policies deployed during George W. Bush’s presidency. The powerful California Democrat lacerated the CIA for attempting to impede her panel’s investigation and charged the agency with possibly violating the Constitution.

At the time, Brennan denied Feinstein’s accusations, telling NBC News reporter Andrea Mitchell, “As far as the allegations of the CIA hacking into Senate computers, nothing could be further from the truth.… That’s beyond the scope of reason.”

This is yet more proof that virtually all parts of our government and “security” agencies are riddled with corruption and moral rot that threaten the very survival of the nation.

What is that old phrase? “Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.”

People cannot be trusted, therefore power must always… ALWAYS… be limited and divided. I don’t care how good we believe our own intentions to be… there must be accountability. There must be consensus before great changes are made.

The President is among the most dangerous men in history, because he believes his ideas are right and good, yet he feels no need to persuade Congress through logical and moral arguments to support his positions. He is willing to risk rebellion and insurrection to do things on his own… and his supporters applaud.

Yes, there are foreign wars, and potential wars, looming all over the world, but the most dangerous possibility is that Civil War II is coming soon to the United States because of the pride and arrogance of this White House. America was not made to be ruled by kingly fiat. Our system was designed to be in ‘gridlock’ until a large majority agrees that a certain course of action is correct.

The CIA, the NSA, the DHS, the EPA, the IRA, the BATFE… virtually every Federal agency is completely rogue, and with all of the ammunition they’ve ordered in recent years, it is coming together to paint a bloody panorama that is, unfortunately, nowhere near “beyond the scope of reason.”
