First Things First: Democrats Go After Guns in New Congress

Democrat representatives wasted no time in ignoring real issues and getting to what is most near and dear to their hearts: grabbing your guns.

On Thursday alone, Democrats in the House introduced eight anti-gun bills.

Just think, if not for the slaughter of innocent children at Sandy Hook, Democrats might not have  political cover for taking away your rights. Never let a tragedy go to waste, right?

Among the bills:

  • Regulations on gun show transactions that would effectively end the events.
  • Tighter licensing of gun owners.
  • Prohibitions on ammo clips beyond certain sizes.
  • A ban on anyone under 21 carrying a firearm.
  • Banning online ammo purchases and licensing ammo dealers.
  • Background checks on all gun sales.

Republicans also added legislation that would eliminate “gun free zones” around schools, saying that since the original gun free zone law was passed, there have been 10 major school shootings.

Note that the Republican bill doesn’t restrict anybody’s Second Amendment rights.

The Senate has yet to take up Dianne Feinstein’s draconian gun bill or any other gun legislation, but Vice President Joe Biden is hard at work with a committee coming up with ways to screw over America.

Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, who last year tried to ban Chick-fil-A because the owner is opposed to gay marriage, said that Biden promised him that the Obama Administration would have a major gun-control program passed before February.

The Boston Herald quoted Menino: “He said, ‘Tommy, I guarantee you, we’ll get it done by the end of January. They’re going to get it done.”

Brace yourself for an Obamacare-style legislative assault, with backroom deals and a final bill that Democrats will have to vote on before they can know what’s in it. If that doesn’t work, then don’t be surprised if the Man Who Would Be King passes the new anti-gun program with an executive order.

If you have a gun, now’s the time to stock up on ammo. If you don’t have a gun, now’s the time to consider getting one.

Very soon, you may not be able to buy a gun legally.
