When I was kid, we often played cowboys and Indians or cops and robbers, where we were always shooting at each other with our toy cap guns or pointing fingers. When I was in high school, it was common for a number of students to have a gun rack in their trucks and one or two rifles in the gun rack. No one thought anything about it, nor do I ever recall any reports of stolen guns.
Today, too many Americans are getting paranoid about anything to do with guns. After the tragedy of Sandy Hook, teachers and school administrators across the nation have become over reactive to kids being kids.
It was reported earlier that a Maryland 6 year old student had been suspended for pointing his finger at another student and acting like he was shooting him. A 3 year old deaf boy was told that he had to change his sign language sign for his name, Hunter, because it resembled a gun.
In the latest report of scholastic paranoia, a five year old girl in Pennsylvania has been suspended for threatening to shoot another kindergartner with her Hello Kitty Bubble Gun. The toy generates a flow of soapy bubbles and is totally harmless, but school officials say that her actions were against their no tolerance policy.
The girl did not have the bubble shooting toy with her at the time of the threat. But school officials at the Mount Carmel Area School District in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, leapt into action and detained the dangerous 5 year old. They interrogated her for three hours without her parents or any legal counsel present.
At the conclusion of the Gitmo-like interrogation, school officials suspended the little bubble gangster for 10 days for making a ‘terroristic threat.’ After speaking with her parents, the suspension was reduced to only 2 days. In addition to the suspension, the girl was ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation before being allowed to return to her kindergarten class. Upon being tested, the psychologist reported that the girl posed no danger to the rest of her classmates.
The mother of the small dangerous little tyke told the local news:
“All I know, is what my daughter has told me and she said she was told she could go to jail, which is a very traumatic thing for a five-year-old to live with.”
The girl’s parents are demanding an apology from school officials along with having their daughter’s suspension expunged from her record. Their attorney, Robin Ficker added:
“This is a good-natured little girl, and this shows how hysterical people who work at schools have become since Sandy Hook. This is a girl who had no idea about killing or what happened in Connecticut.”
Accusing a 5 year old kindergartner of terrorist threats is beyond the realm of reasonable sanity. If I was a parent in the school district, I would be contacting anyone necessary to have those school officials removed from their jobs for not only being ridiculously stupid, but for violating the constitutional rights of a minor. No one has the right to interrogate a 5 year old with no parental or legal counsel present. Then to threaten to send a 5 year old jail, again without parental knowledge, amounts to child cruelty which is a criminal offense.
The Obama administration is purposely creating a national hysteria over guns in order to help them justify eliminating the Second Amendment of the US Constitution, which would allow them to completely disarm the American public. It’s no different than Taliban terrorists hiding behind children in Iraq and Afghanistan in order to carry out their terrorist activities. But that shouldn’t be a surprise since Obama is a Muslim who obviously supports the very Muslim extremists who have vowed to destroy America.
Every parent and every gun owner should be outraged at these actions and need to stand up and make their voices heard. The more the American people remain silent, the more rights and freedoms we will all lose.
