Homosexual Activism Is Forcing Christians to Take a Stand

Forcing Christians to affirm and celebrate “gay marriage” will make them into people who resist.

God and Politics

A headline in the Washington Post reads, “‘Relationship with Jesus’ doesn’t justify florist’s refusal to serve gay couple, judge rules.

“Religious motivation does not excuse compliance with the law,” …said the rulers, elders, scribes, Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the family of the high priest (compare).

We will not merely force you to tolerate this (as we said was our goal in the past), but you must be made to celebrate it.

As loudly as they paraded around their happy term, “tolerance,” and as much as the useful idiots helped them because of it, that never was their endgame. Their end has always been not just cultural dominion, but cultural dominion at the barrel of a gun. The case of Baronelle Stutzman demonstrates that we have entered a new age when you now must publicly celebrate what the state says or armed men will come and rob you. If Ms. Stutzman persists, she will lose her business. Her faithfulness to Jesus Christ costs her something.

What they don’t know, and if they knew this they wouldn’t dare be doing what they are, is that when you make obedience to Jesus costly for His people, that is how He conquers. When faithfulness to Christ becomes costly, whether it is your life, your freedom, or your livelihood, that is how His Kingdom grows exponentially. Ms. Stutzman is laying down her livelihood at Jesus’ feet. She has chosen God over Mammon as her master. And they have absolutely no idea how powerful this is.

If they had any idea, they’d leave Christians like Ms. Stutzman in a Christian ghetto where their fidelity to Jesus Christ would always be kept internalized and never be forced out into the open. They should (and would) be far more comfortable when the faith of women like Baronelle Stutzman is contained in doilies with quotes of Scripture and “Footprints in the Sand” prints hidden behind the walls of their houses. Instead of a sweet, old, church lady, they have created a Deborah. Instead of a Jesus hidden away in a Christian ghetto, they are forcing Jesus to burst forth from that ghetto right out into public where He belongs as its King.

And Luke 19:27 tells us what happens whenever King Jesus is allowed back into public. So, let’s hope they keep on making faith in Jesus cost His people something; because that means we have them right where we want them. That means we are winning.
