Ayn Rand’s novel Altas Shrugged began with the question “Who is John Galt?”
I think the best way to start this post is to also begin with a question: Who is Abby Johnson?
Here at her website is an important part of the answer.
Abby Johnson has always had a fierce determination to help women in need. It was this desire that both led Abby to a career with Planned Parenthood, our nation’s largest abortion provider, and caused her to flee the organization and become an outspoken advocate for the pro-life movement. During her eight years with Planned Parenthood, Abby quickly rose in the organization’s ranks and became a clinic director. She was increasingly disturbed by what she witnessed. Abortion was a product Planned Parenthood was selling, not an unfortunate necessity that they fought to decrease. Still, Abby loved the women that entered her clinic and her fellow workers. Despite a growing unrest within her, she stayed on and strove to serve women in crisis.
All of that changed on September 26, 2009 when Abby was asked to assist with an ultrasound-guided abortion.
She watched in horror as a 13 week baby fought, and ultimately lost, its life at the hand of the abortionist.
At that moment, the full realization of what abortion was and what she had dedicated her life to washed over Abby and a dramatic transformation took place. Desperate and confused, Abby sought help from a local pro-life group. She swore that she would begin to advocate for life in the womb and expose abortion for what it truly is.
Planned Parenthood did not take Abby’s exodus sitting down. They are fully aware that the workers who leave are their greatest threat. Instantly, they took action to silence Abby with a gag order and took her to court. The lawsuit was quickly seen as the sham it was and thrown out of court.
I’ll stop there. I want you to have this background in order to tell you that, if the videos of Planned Parenthood’s wine-sipping organ traffickers were a declaration of war, then Abby Johnson just launched herself as a serious WMD.
Her name popped into my Facebook feed last night and I was led to several twitter feeds.
She was busy yesterday.

Is Planned Parenthood going to argue that $120 thousand a month was merely for expenses? Are they going to allow an audit to prove that Abby Johnson is lying? This was Abby Johnson’s testimony to the Texas Senate Committee investigating Planned Parenthood. A couple of more Tweets:

It turns out that Abby has been pointing out these fact for awhile, and was speaking out about the profit made from baby parts as soon as the first video was released. Other than the Washington Times, no national media has mentioned her name as far as I can tell.
LifeSite News published an article by her after the first video was released. It is amazing. I will only quote what she says about gaining the consent of the women and girls who had their babies aborted:
During the season of tissue harvesting, an intact body was gold. An intact fetal body is considered perfection in the land of fetal tissue research. But dismembered body parts were okay, too…and that is usually what we gave them. I would check the patient’s chart to make sure that they had signed the consent for us to donate their baby’s remains. Almost every woman did, because we made it seem like that by donating, they were helping others…altruism during abortion.
Right. “Altruism” brought in $120,000 a month!
