Modern Media: State a Liberal opinion, get retained and promoted. Contradict Progressive insanity, lose your job.
“It’s important to shine a light on this anti-cop mentality that has so contaminated America’s inner cities. …The underlying cause of all of this, of course: young black men growing up without fathers. Unfortunately, no one in the news media has the courage to touch that subject.” –TV Reporter Sean Bergin, making remarks that got him dumped from News 12 in NY/NJ.
The welfare state has, in large measure, not helped people—it is killing them. We will do the same damage to the “immigrants” now coming over our border, and getting housed in a $50-million resort and given free bus trips to Walmart with EBT cards in-hand (as in other recent reports).]
The American Dream is that you can start with nothing, and end up as successful as your gifts and hard work take you—but it requires effort and sacrifice. Yes, freely given temporary assistance is sometimes needed in a crisis, but ongoing provision of government-provided checks is decimating entire communities—of all skin colors.
Where are Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton to tell young black women: No ring, no sex?!? Oh yeah… they’re too busy, in many cases, violating that same principle themselves to be able to speak to the root of these devastating moral and social plagues. Also, they’ve been complicit with the welfare mentality that teaches young girls: Have a baby, get a check.
There is a special place in Hell for “Reverends” who betray the flock, and demonstrate hatred for people by not speaking the truth.
The existence of racism is not the major problem for the black community, sin is. I pray God will raise up a new generation of leaders like Thabiti Anyabwile, Voddie Baucham, and Lecrae, who are great rays of authentic hope.
And before anyone tries to deflect attention from the issue on the table by tarring me with one of the favorite accusations of our day.. Newsflash: Sin is the main problem in the white community, too.
I would love nothing more than to see brothers like the ones I listed above bring reformation, revival, and renewal among people of color, and to set them on a course for spiritual and material prosperity. Few things would speak more powerfully to the need of those who share my skin color to also repent, and believe in the fullness of the Good News of Jesus.
