Moveon.org is sounding the alarm, claiming that Obamacare is threatened if Millennials don’t participate.
Back in March of last year, Mark Horne wrote about how Obamacare might be destroyed because Millennials don’t like the program. In fact, Obamacare is threatened by the apathy of both Millennials and Hispanics.
Now we have confirmation from an impeccable Liberal source: MoveOn.org. As Josiah Ryan explains at CampusReform.org, “Obamacare to ‘fail,’ if young people opt-out, claims MoveOn.org in ‘urgent’ email.”
President Obama’s landmark healthcare achievement will crumble if young people opt-out, liberal advocacy group MoveOn.org, acknowledged in an email to its donor base on Thursday afternoon.
“The problem is… if younger, healthier people don’t participate, then costs will skyrocket and Obamacare will fail,” reads the “urgent” communication the group sent to its donors.
The email then accuses conservative groups of seeking to torpedo The Affordable Care Act by exploiting this weakness.
“These groups are so blinded by hate for Barack Obama that they’ll do anything to make his signature program go up in smoke,” reads the MoveOn.org email. “[T]heir plan: Mislead young people about how the law works so they get scared and don’t enroll.”
First of all, I have seen my rates skyrocket as I was forced to get new doctors and pay higher deductibles. My hatred is not blind! It is based on clear vision of reality.
Secondly, it is true that FreedomWorks is encouraging young participants to opt out of Obamacare. But how can conservatives fool people who are already using the system and “enjoying” all its many benefits? If Obamacare is so great, then Millennials should be completely impervious to anyone trying to mislead them or begging them to reject it and become uninsured.
Thirdly, what more do we need to say about Obamacare than what MoveOn.org admits? If it is true that “if younger, healthier people don’t participate, then costs will skyrocket,” that can only mean that these younger, healthier people are paying far higher rates to pay for the healthcare of older, sicker participants. Why should young health people who probably don’t have a good job and may have much more student debt than the previous generation be forced to subsidize health care for retirees who have had careers?
Basically, MoveOn.org has admitted that the youth are being unfairly exploited by Obamacare. Listen to what they say, Millennials! Move on from Obamacare!
