This is covered in Human Events; it should be headline news everywhere.
The massacre took place in Sadad, an ancient Syriac Orthodox Christian habitation, so old as to be mentioned in the Old Testament. Most of the region’s inhabitants are poor, as Sadad is situated in the remote desert between Homs and Damascus (desert regions, till now, apparently the only places Syria’s Christians could feel secure; 600 Christian families had earlier fled there for sanctuary from the jihad, only to be followed by it).
In late October, the U.S-supported “opposition” invaded and occupied Sadad for over a week, till ousted by the nation’s military. Among other atrocities, 45 Christians—including women and children—were killed, several tortured to death; Sadat’s 14 churches, some ancient, were ransacked and destroyed; the bodies of six people from one family, ranging from ages 16 to 90, were found at the bottom of a well (an increasingly common fate for “subhuman” Christians).
The jihadis even made a graphic video (with English subtitles) of those whom they massacred, while shouting Islam’s victory-cry, “Allahu Akbar” (which John McCain equates to a Christian saying “thank God”). Another video, made after Sadad was liberated shows more graphic atrocities.
For those of us who read the real news, what I am about to write is old news; but I will rehearse it again anyway: The United States Federal Government is enabling these Christian massacres.
We hear words from our overlords about how they are only supporting the allegedly “moderate” rebels in Syria. But, even if there are moderates to be supported, their US government simply does not have the ability to arm them without arming the Al Qaeda-related Jihadist forces that have moved there. The weapons and other support are reaching the Sunni Islamists.
Furthermore, by denying the legitimacy of the Bashar al-Assad’s government, and making a point of remembering and emphasizing all his atrocities and human-rights violations, our government has effectively empowered Sunni terrorists. We have denied Assad’s legitimacy and thus declared to ever terrorist and extremist that they have an opportunity to go overthrow that regime. This is a horrible exchange. Assad’s ruthless and torturous ways are aimed at protecting religious minorities from being persecuted. We have no business declaring that a ruler’s sins are unforgivable and then overlooking far worse crimes committed by the forces who oppose him.
Our government never admits to the torture and murder that it sponsors and inspires. It still shamelessly boast in what we did in Libya where we backed Al-Qaeda forces to kill Gaddafi and overthrow his government. It is now a terrorist haven and playground. Yet Obama will shamelessly claim that the country is better off now that Gaddafi’s regime is gone. That is, literally, bloody nonsense.
We have basically empowered and enabled Sunni Islamist terrorists all over the Middle East. The people we claim to be fighting—the same kind of people who we say destroyed the Twin Towers—are the people we are supporting in Syria.
This is a disgusting policy and God is going to judge us for it.
