National Outrage over Palin Pet Trick Pic

Posting an image of a pet trick gets some people boiling mad for “animal rights.”

Liberals are running out of reasons to find national outrage. I have to assume that’s what happens to their brains when they commit themselves to ignoring the real outrages carried out by the Obama Administration.

The latest scraping of the bottom of the barrel is anger that Sarah Palin posted a picture of her son Trig standing on a dog. The pet is obviously in zero distress. Trig is six years old with Down syndrome and Palin used the cute pictures as an example of how to deal with life—using a lazy dog that insisted on staying in his favorite spot and blocking him from the dishes into a step-up.

Here, see one of the photographs of hate crime for yourself:

This proves to some people that Sarah Palin is another Michael Vick.

According to

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals called the post inappropriate.

“It’s odd that anyone — let alone a mother — would find it appropriate to post such a thing, with no apparent sympathy for the dog in the photo,” PETA President Ingrid Newkirk said in a statement to POLITICO.

“Then again, PETA, along with everyone else, is used to the hard-hearted, seeming obliviousness of this bizarrely callous woman,” Newkirk said. She pointed to an interview Palin gave in 2008 at a farm while turkeys were slaughtered in the background as an example of past differences between the animal rights group and the former vice presidential candidate.

Animal rights group Friends of Animals also condemned Palin’s post.

“It’s no surprise to Friends of Animals that Sarah Palin is so insensitive she thinks a Black Lab should be tolerant of a child who isn’t told to not put his full weight on top of the dog’s back by standing on him,” President Priscilla Feral said in a statement. “How lazy of Sarah Palin not to move the dog out of the way and teach her child the right lessons.”

Let’s just be honest. The real sin here is that a Down syndrome child was allowed a live birth. People at PETA and others would find a world in which Trig had been aborted and then recycled as dog food for the Lab a much more just world than the one in which Trig is alive and loved and playing tricks with his pet.

And, by the way, I’ve accidentally stepped on a pet before and the reaction was immediate. If that dog was hurt at all it would not have stayed there.

Finally, the comment about the Turkey Farm shows you the kind of self-delusions that Liberals depend upon. Virtually the entire country celebrates Thanksgiving by eating slaughtered Turkey carcasses. Why should Palin be a hypocrite and pretend there is something wrong with that?
