Nuclear Tensions Heating Up Between Israel and Iran

This past weekend, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was interviewed by CBS for Face the Nation.  In the interview, he said:

“We’re closer than the United States.  We’re more vulnerable. And therefore, we’ll have to address this question of how to stop Iran, perhaps before the United States does.”

According to Iran, their nuclear program is for the production of energy and medical purposes only, all civilian uses.  Their newly elected President Hassan Rohani says that he will work with the international community to try to help ease the tensions and reduce the sanctions that have been placed on his country.

Netanyahu said that Rohani’s strategy:

“…is be a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Smile and build a bomb.”

He went on to describe Iran as posing an ‘existential threat’ and that at this stage of the game that the safety of his nation is paramount.  All options are on the table and if a military strike is necessary to stop Iran’s nuclear program, they are willing to carry it out to protect themselves.

A year ago, Netanyahu brought the ridicule of the world down on him when he said that Iran was getting close to having the capability of having nuclear weapons.  Obama’s government experts shot Netanyahu down saying that Iran was at least 5-10 years away from having that kind of capability.

Over the course of this last year, it has become evident that Netanyahu was closer to the truth and that the US and the rest of the world were sorely misinformed or simply to cover their own butts.  Or perhaps by disagreeing with Netanyahu, countries like the US are hoping that Iran will develop their nukes and attack Israel before we or anyone else can take any action.  Then by the time the US does get involved, Israel will lay in radioactive ruins and Obama won’t have to do anything to help the Jews since their country will be destroyed.  I believe this is what Obama is hoping for since he is, after all, a Muslim in pseudo Christian clothing.
