Obama Administration Uses Embassies To Force Homosexual Marriage Acceptance On Traditional Cultures

Now that Obama suddenly decided to approve of homosexual marriage in 2012, he is showing missionary zeal to confront other peoples of the world with his views. The Dominican Republic, according to Wikipedia, is made up of a majority of Roman Catholics with a sizable Evangelical minority.

According to Fox News Latino:

Amid calls of protest in the Dominican Republic and a torrent of insults by local religious groups for being openly gay, the United States new ambassador to the Caribbean nation arrived this week in the capital of Santo Domingo accompanied by his new husband.

James “Wally” Brewster, who hours after sworn in to the post last Friday by Vice President Joe Biden went on to marry his partner of several years Bob J. Satawake, arrived in the Dominican Republic to mixed feelings from the government and general public. While the Dominican government has accepted the new ambassador with open arms, the Dominican Evangelical Fraternity in the country has called for a ‘black Monday’ protest, urging locals to tie black ribbons to their cars to show their opposition to Brewster.

“He has not considered the particularities of our people,” Father Luís Rosario, the director of youth ministries for the church said, according to the Daily Mail. “The United States is trying to impose on us marriage between gays and lesbians as well as adoption by these couples.”

Brewster, who owns a home in the Caribbean country, is the seventh U.S. ambassador in history to be openly gay.

With all due respect to Father Rosario, I suspect that the White House has indeed considered “the particularities of” his “people” and has decided they must be forced to change, or at least to submit to US power on the issue.

I went to the Dominican Republic’s English news site and found it to be pretty politically correct on gay marriage, except one article did slip and use scare quotation marks:

After a seemingly short “honeymoon” new U.S. ambassador in Dominican Republic James “Wally” Brewster took the oath on Friday and shortly after married his partner of several years, Bob J. Satawake, with whom he arrived in the Caribbean Tuesday afternoon.

That seems to me to indicate that the reporter does not view it as a real honeymoon.

There was a time when the US was a nation that spread the value of freedom across the globe. Now we just stand for denigrating and parodying marriage, without any real rationale or discussion.
