When they say the government shutdown continues to fund “essential services,” that means Baby Killing Inc. still gets corporate welfare.
This story from Politico showed up in my Facebook feed because a friend was (understandably) outraged at Mitch McConnell: “McConnell: Planned Parenthood funding protest ‘exercise in futility’”
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said in an interview Friday he will back a plan to fund the government into December with no conditions, rejecting in his strongest terms yet calls from within his party to defund Planned Parenthood as part of a larger budget bill.
“It’s an exercise in futility,” the Kentucky Republican said of a strategy that would likely provoke a government shutdown. “I’m anxious to defund Planned Parenthood” but “the honest answer of that is that’s not going to happen until you have a president who has a similar view.”
“It’s better to be honest with the American people and say, ‘That won’t get it done,’” he added.
Yes, I can easily understand why this enrages people. If you don’t think it should, please read below where I try to explain it.
But the most enraging statement is buried deep in the story. It makes a claim that seems incredible.
You remember, of course, that what was most obvious about the last “government shutdown” was that the government never shut down. The government continued to fund “essential services” without a budget. All that happened was a few national parks were closed arbitrarily, and even some private businesses were threatened.
But Baby Killers Incorporated still got their corporate welfare checks.
That’s right. Planned Parenthood gets most of its Federal money even during a government shutdown.
As the Politico story tells us:
But the Kentucky Republican said a strategy being promoted by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and a growing bloc of House conservatives that would oppose any spending bill that funds Planned Parenthood is “misleading people into thinking it’s possible” to strip the organization of funding. That proposal can’t pass the Senate’s 60-vote threshold and even a government shutdown would still keep most funds flowing to the women’s healthcare organization.
“Woman’s healthcare organization” is Politico’s euphemism for Baby Killers Incorporation, aka Planned Parenthood.
So that’s an essential service! The money must ever flow to the people who are cutting through faces to get baby brains and crushing the torsos correctly to be able to extract intact livers.
The blood of infants must be pumped through the heart of the Federal Beast and nothing must be permitted to stop it.
All the while Obama was harassing campers and tourists, claiming that the “shutdown” meant they couldn’t enter, Planned Parenthood never saw any halt in Federal funding.
This is why McConnell’s attitude is so unacceptable to people who think homicide should be illegal or, at least, not federally funded. Even though Planned Parenthood would still be funded, the lack of a budget would be highly inconvenient in some other ways to Barack Obama. It would be the decision of him and/or the Democrats in the Senate to insist on funding baby killers rather than have a clean budget.
Did you catch that? A “clean budget” is not one that includes giving money to baby killers, but one that leaves them out.
McConnell is doing all he can to bolster the pretensions of the Democrats. He is insisting that defunding a baby-vivisecting, and organ trafficking, organization is a side issue. What really matters is the budget. The highest priority should be the budget, not Planned Parenthood.
People who think abortion is murder and that we now have solid evidence of Nazi-like horrors using the dead bodies of the babies, think that the budget is a side issue compared to defunding Planned Parenthood.
McConnell can pose as a “realist” all he wants. He’s only fooling himself. He’s actually supporting a pro-abortion narrative about the priorities of Big Government baby killers.
