There are no Islamic terrorists according to Barack Obama.
I understand how any president would face a political problem because we need Muslim countries to fight the terrorists. I don’t think anything Barack Obama says on this matter is worse than leading a worship service to the “god” who is both Christian and Muslim—as happened under George W. Bush at the National Cathedral shortly after 9-11.
But his statements are still nonsense and they are actually threatening to the integrity of Islam, for what that is worth. Newser.com reports, “Obama: They’re Not ‘Islamic Terrorists.”
President Obama today elaborated on why you’ll never catch him referring to “Islamic terrorists.” Doing so would give them too much credit, said the president at a White House summit on violent extremism. “No religion is responsible for terrorism—people are responsible for violence and terrorism,” Obama said, as quoted by USA Today. Again and again, he stressed the point:
- “We are not at war with Islam—we are at war with people who have perverted Islam.”
- “They try to portray themselves as religious leaders, holy warriors in defense of Islam. We must never accept the premise that they put forward because it is a lie. Nor should we grant these terrorists the religious legitimacy that they seek. They are not religious leaders. They are terrorists.”
As I’ve said before, this is posed as if Barack Obama is defending Islam. But really he is controlling it. He is claiming that any part of Islam that he doesn’t like, that offends his feelings about right and wrong, does not count as true Islam.
What else offends Barack Obama’s feelings?
The logic is clear. Barack Obama has now set precedent for how he will reply when Muslims object to an ambassador or other diplomat having a “spouse” of the same sex. He will say that Muslims who oppose homosexual marriage “have perverted Islam.”
In fact, he is already attempting to dictate Islamic doctrine to Muslims:
Obama, however, also stressed the need to be vigilant on the hunt for extremists, adding that Muslim leaders “need to do more to discredit the notion that our nations are determined to suppress Islam,” reports CNN.
Right. To Barack Obama, our opposition to Sharia law is not opposition to Islam. Why not? Because anyone who thinks Sharia law is essential to Islam is someone who has “perverted Islam.”
And there is no doubt that Obama will do the same to Christianity.
