Teacher Tells Girl Bible Quotes Banned From School

Freedom of expression. It’s not a difficult concept. Basically, every human being has the right to speak his mind without fear of government punishment or penalty. Accepted, reasonable restrictions on speech are generally very loose, like no yelling “fire” in a crowded auditorium and no speech that is genuinely disruptive like standing up and reciting the Communist Manifesto while the teacher is trying to conduct class. Yet somehow, school officials across this land often seem to forget Read more […]

Feeling Among Elites That Christians ‘Should be Eradicated’

University of North Texas sociologists George Yancey and David Williamson are issuing a warning that some of the most virulent anti-Christians in the country tend to be among the influential and elite. Yancey and Williamson, authors of the new book “So Many Christians, So Few Lions: Christianophobia in the United States,” studied anti-Christian sentiments among various people and found some common, and alarming, traits. The sociologists say that there is not rampant “Christianophobia” in the Read more […]

Satanic Group Wants Display in Florida Capitol

The anti-Christians are at it again. A group calling itself the Satanic Temple wants to put up a “holidays” display in the Florida State Capitol, after a similar display was rejected last year. Helping to push the effort is Americans United for Separation of Church and State, which sent a threatening legal letter to the Florida Department of Management Services over its refusal to allow the Satanists to set up in the Capitol. The letter contained the usual claptrap about the “wall of separation” Read more […]

Sky to Fall After Supreme Court Ruling on Public Prayer

With one ruling in favor of public sectarian prayer on Monday, the Supreme Court has destroyed the country so many people thought they lived in, where Christians are sent to the corner and told to shut up, like the Founding Fathers intended. “We are really angry,” said Rob Boston, a spokesman for Americans United for Separation of Church and State, which litigated the lawsuit against Greece, New York. “I mean really, really, really angry. Oh my Flying Spaghetti Monster are we angry.” “I mean, Read more […]

Atheists Invited, Then Uninvited, to CPAC

The Conservative Political Action Conference is continuing its tradition of raising conservative hackles by announcing that the group American Atheists would be included in this year’s event, then revoking the group’s invitation on the same day. On Tuesday, CNN reported that the American Atheists were crowing about having their CPAC invitation approved, much to the annoyance of several conservatives, including Brent Bozell, who pulled out of next month’s conference upon hearing the news. See, Read more […]

Government Lawyers to Atheists: Yes, You’re a Religion

Seldom does the boomerang of fate connect with such a resounding clang as it has with the Freedom From Religion Foundation, which is being told by federal government lawyers that not only is atheism a religion, but the FFRF’s leaders are probably eligible for the “parsonage exclusion” break on their taxes. Now atheist leaders are caught like deer in the headlights of an approaching truck, temporarily stunned while they think of a way out of this trap, which they themselves set. But let’s start Read more […]

‘Faith-Based Hate’ Charge Has Become the New Racism

Some atheists took offense recently to a military chaplain’s quoting of the old saying, popularized by Dwight Eisenhower, “In battle, they learned the great truth that there are no atheists in foxholes.” ((The origin of the quotation is uncertain. U. S. Military Chaplain William T. Cummings may have said it in a field sermon during the Battle of Bataan in 1942. Other sources credit Lieutenant Colonel Warren J. Clear, who was also at Bataan, or Lieutenant Colonel William Casey. But the phrase Read more […]

High School Grad Defies Atheists, Recites Lord’s Prayer

It wasn’t the Declaration of Independence. It wasn’t the bombing of Berlin. But as smackdowns go, a South Carolina high school valedictorian’s standoff against the Pickens County School District and a bunch of trucked-in atheists was pretty memorable. As an honors student, Roy Costner IV of Liberty High School is used to all sorts of awards and accolades. But the best one he ever got was the one he received Saturday from the audience at Liberty’s graduation: a standing ovation after he tore up Read more […]

Stephen King Defends Intelligent Design

People can surprise you. Author Stephen King, known for such novels as “Carrie” and “Cujo,” defended the concept of intelligent design during a recent interview with NPR. He also talked about his belief in God and said that the universe is full of evidence of design but atheists are missing it. “I choose to believe it,” King said. “… I mean, there’s no downside to that. If you say, ‘Well, OK, I don’t believe in God, there’s no evidence of God,’ then you’re missing the stars Read more […]

Global Warming From A Christian Perspective

“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” So proclaimed God in the Book of Genesis, but what does He know? He hasn’t got anything on Gaia. Of course one can’t use biblical arguments when trying to persuade those of a different theological bent. A non-Christian will not listen when his opponent begins the debate with “The Bible says,” just as a Christian will not listen when his opponent begins the Read more […]

Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) the Courts’ Favored Hate Group

The Left loves to issue reports about how conservative groups are actually hate groups and potential terrorists, often comparing them — without any intent of irony — to the KKK, that icon of hate founded by Democrats. Meanwhile, one of the most active hate groups in this country, the Freedom From Religion Foundation, not only is allowed to continue its anti-Christian activity, it is encouraged and supported by the media and politicians. The most recent target of the FFRF is a veterans memorial Read more […]

Magicians ‘Penn & Teller’ Are Atheistic Frauds

Last night I saw Penn & Teller do their magic show. It was lots of fun. In addition to their stage ‘magic,’ they are also known for exposing quacks, frauds, and claims of the supernatural. In addition, they are big believers in doing the moral thing. That’s what Penn says since Teller doesn’t say much of anything. They are libertarians and atheists. According to an article in Wired magazine,1 Penn Read more […]Geoffrey Gagnon, “Faces of the New Atheism: The Illusionists,” Wired (November 2006). [↩]
