Little Girls Tangle With the Man Over Lemonade Stand

Hard work and entrepreneurial industriousness are the key to success in America. Unfortunately, they’re also the key to harassment by police and bureaucrats, and possibly a citation with a fine. That’s what two young ladies learned in Overton, Texas, when they thought to enter the competitive world of concession operations by selling generously sized cups of lemonade for 50 cents and bags of homemade kettle corn for $1. The Green Girls Lemonade Stand, as their sign says, no doubt was a Read more […]

Obama Administration Making Grab for Control of Internet

The mystery surrounding the Obama Administration’s “Net Neutrality” rules is giving way to panic, even on the Left. The Federal Communications Commission Chairman Tom Wheeler has refused, on the eve of the rules change, to even speak to Congress, which suddenly has a lot of questions. Questions are understandable, since even Silicon Valley advocates of Net Neutrality seem incapable of explaining what it is and why we need it. Gives the little guy a break, regulates the Internet, increases Read more […]

California Proposes a License to Breed

One of California’s many elected mother hen Progressives, Sen. Kevin de Leon, known for advocating various gun control measures, has come up with a doozy this time. In light of investigations into sexual misconduct at various universities, de Leon is proposing a law that would require “verbal or written consent” prior to any sexual activity on college campuses. Forget about sexy looks. Forget body language. “Hey baby, do you have a condom?” Way too subtle. And a magical moment when Read more […]

Big Brother To Know Everything You Do In Your Car

If you thought that you had any privacy while driving your car, forget it.  The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has requested the approval of a new rule that gives anyone with the proper technology access to virtually everything you do once you turn on the ignition of your car. What would you say if you knew that your car had a black box that recorded your speed, acceleration rates, pedal use and force, seat belt use, wheel spin, turning the steering wheel and direction the car Read more […]

Oakland To Be Next Big Brother City To Spy On Residents

On Tuesday, the Oakland City Council voted to accept a $2 million grant from the Obama administration to build a community spy center.  In hopes of selling it to the public, they came up with the name, Domain Awareness Center.  It’s the same as changing the term socialism to social justice.  It means the same thing only it doesn’t sound so offensive and misguides people into accepting more. The new system will rely on video cameras and license plate readers posted at strategic locations Read more […]

DOJ to America: Help Us Frame Zimmerman

Despite an FBI investigation that found no evidence that George Zimmerman harbored any racist feelings, the Department of Justice is bent on building a hate crimes case against him and has set up a special email address for people to send in “tips” against him. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Tom Perez, assistant attorney general for the Civil Rights Division, asked participants in a conference call to refer anyone who had any information that could be used against Zimmerman. “They said Read more […]

Add Snail Mail to Government Spying

Many Americans seemed outraged and violated when they learned that our government had been spying on our all of our phone calls and emails.  If that wasn’t enough, we learned that they have also been spying on our Internet usage, monitoring the sights we visit and our online transactions. In today’s electronic age, the government was using all of the technology they had to spy on Americans.  Nothing electronic was safe from federal prying eyes.  I know of some people who insist on using Read more […]

Pogo the Possum, Obama Speak, and Self-Government

In his recent address to Ohio State University, Obama had some interesting comments to make about his version of “self”-government. Many conservatives have focused on the part of his speech where he said: Unfortunately, you’ve grown up hearing voices that incessantly warn of government as nothing more than some separate, sinister entity that’s at the root of all our problems. Some of these same voices also do their best to gum up the works. They’ll warn that tyranny is always lurking just Read more […]

A Fine Proposal, Part 2

Last time, I talked about how we should abolish all citations and fines for moving/traffic violations. Even if you agree with me, you may be wondering, “Yeah, but how are we supposed to accomplish that?” It does often seem like we all must helplessly accept whatever the civil government decides to shove down our throats. (How about another steaming helping of ObamaCare? Anyone? Bueller?) But in this case, I think there is a very slim possibility we can effectively end fines for traffic violations. Read more […]

Internet Big Brother Coming to UK?

In George Orwell’s book, 1984, virtually every aspect of people’s lives was monitored and controlled by the Party which was run by Big Brother.  They knew what we watched, what we ate and what we said.  They controlled where we worked and our family lives, including sexual relations. In today’s world of technology, we are getting closer and closer to seeing the Party and Big Brother become a reality.  The United Kingdom is about to take a giant step in that direction and it wouldn’t Read more […]

Big Brother is Watching…and Listening

TrapWire is a company that uses an intelligence gathering software that is designed to analyze human behavior and to predict and prevent terrorist attacks based on behavior patterns. Stratfor (Strategic Forecasting, Inc.) is another company that specializes in intelligence through sophisticated networks of surveillance cameras positioned in big cities throughout the U.S. and abroad. Stratfor and TrapWire have allegedly teamed up in delivering a “product” that not only watches us with fancy cameras Read more […]

Government Schools Using RFID Chips to Track Students

The Northside school district in Austin, Texas is implementing a program that tracks its students with RFID chips in their school ID’s, which are worn around their necks. The stated purpose is to increase attendance and thereby increase revenue. Schools with attendance problems receive less revenue from the state than those without attendance problems. So, the theory is that if they can raise attendance through tracking students, they’ll bring in more revenue from the state. School officials Read more […]
