ABC’s ‘Scandal’ Shows Abortion as Sacred Experience

Modern liberalism has been compared by some people to a religion, and abortion has been said to be its sacrament. ABC seems to have unwittingly demonstrated that point with an episode of its show “Scandal” in which the main character, Olivia Pope, played by actress Kerry Washington, has an abortion. The scene is one of the most horrifying I’ve ever seen on television, and I’m a “Walking Dead” fan. In the interest of full disclosure, I’ve never watched a full episode of “Scandal,” and after Read more […]

Joe Kennedy, Satanists, and the Misuse of the Establishment Clause

The story about Bremerton Washington assistant football coach Joe Kennedy and his postgame prayers has been well publicized.  We have all seen it somewhere.  Here’s a guy who doesn’t make a big deal about praying. He goes out to the field after the game, prays a very inclusive and “love your fellow man” kind of prayer, and then goes home. According to, Kennedy has been praying before and after the games since 2008, and it only recently became a problem with the school district. Read more […]

Your Work Matters to God: The Ten Commandments Sets the Standard

Many years ago a man who lived on Long Island was able one day to satisfy a lifelong ambition by purchasing for himself a very fine barometer. When the instrument arrived at his home, he was extremely disappointed to find that the indicating needle appeared to be stuck, pointing to the sector marked “HURRICANE.”  After shaking the barometer very vigorously several times, its new owner sat down and wrote a scorching letter to the store from which he had purchased the instrument. The following morning Read more […]

The De-Christianization of Bakers and Coaches in America

The attacks on religious freedom are accelerating in America. You may have heard the latest on the Oregon bakers, fined $135,000.00 for declining the invitation to bake a “wedding cake” for two daughters of Sodom; who then complained they were discriminated against. Now the pagan State of Oregon is poised to evict them from their home, steal it from them and then give that $135,000.00 directly to the two daughters of Sodom. The new judicial standard seems to be that if you don’t believe the Read more […]

American Christians and the US Military in the Eyes of the World

To Christians outside the United States, American Christians send a very mixed message.  The following exchange from happened between an  American teaching English as a second language in Australia and his Iraqi student: I had an incredibly interesting exchange with a 20-year-old Iraqi man regarding Christianity and American foreign policy. Ledan and I meet weekly to work on English and to talk about the Bible. In fact, when I first met him and learned he was from Iraq, I instinctively Read more […]

College Professor Doubles Down on Christian Hatred

Rutgers University Professor Brittney Cooper is not the sort of person you want your children having as a teacher. That much is clear. Lately, she’s making quite an infamous name for herself because of her Holy Week essay titled “The Right’s Made-Up God: How Bigots Invented a White Supremacist Jesus.” As with so many on the Left, Cooper is irony impaired and goes about spewing bile about whites, particularly white males, conservative Christians, the Bible and God, all while calling herself Read more […]

Right of Conscience? Depends on the Cake

Consider the following proof — as if it was needed — that “tolerance” and religious “freedom” are a one-way street. Everyone remembers back in 2012, when Jack Phillips, owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop in Lakewood, Colorado, refused to bake a “wedding” cake for a homosexual couple. The ACLU got involved, the Colorado Civil Rights Commission ruled that Phillips had violated anti-discrimination laws. Phillips is currently appealing. Fast forward to March 2014. A guy named Bill Jack from Castle Read more […]

The Devil Went Down to Oklahoma

The Oklahoma City Civic Center Music Hall is the planned venue for a September 21 public performance of a Satanic Black Mass, for which tickets are being sold at $15 apiece. The Black Mass is being staged by a Satanic cult group called Dakhma of Angra Mainyu. Recently, another group called the Satanic Temple has been lobbying to erect a statue of Baphomet — Satan with a goat’s head — in the Oklahoma state capitol as a stunt to protest the placement of a Ten Commandments monument. State Read more […]

Sky to Fall After Supreme Court Ruling on Public Prayer

With one ruling in favor of public sectarian prayer on Monday, the Supreme Court has destroyed the country so many people thought they lived in, where Christians are sent to the corner and told to shut up, like the Founding Fathers intended. “We are really angry,” said Rob Boston, a spokesman for Americans United for Separation of Church and State, which litigated the lawsuit against Greece, New York. “I mean really, really, really angry. Oh my Flying Spaghetti Monster are we angry.” “I mean, Read more […]

Duck, Duck, Noose

A&E’s suspension of Phil Robertson from the hit show “Duck Dynasty” has generated a lot of talk about the First Amendment. While technically it’s not a First Amendment issue because the government was not involved, the punishing of Robertson for expressing his well-known beliefs in an interview with GQ goes to the larger issue of free speech and tolerance for differing views. A&E has a right to fire anyone it chooses, however, this was not just a case of someone shooting his mouth off Read more […]

Conservatives Push Liberals Aside, Finally

Liberals’  anti-conservative agenda just isn’t as sexy as it used to be when President Obama first came into office. In fact, across this country there finally are signs that conservatives are tired of being pushed around and are at last ready to push back. Earlier this month, the nation was treated to the Million Muslim March on the anniversary of 9/11. A few years ago under Obama, or even under Bush, such an insulting event might have attracted a considerable crowd of supporters. Instead, Read more […]

Federal Government Pulls Aid to Food Pantry Because of Jesus

From the time the first settlers arrived on our shores until several decades ago, charity and aid to those in need was supplied by the local community and the church.  If there was an illness, injury or loss of a family member, the church was there to help provide meals, watch kids, etc.  If a barn needed to be raised, the church members brought their tools, the women brought the meal baskets and everyone pitched in to help.  The same was true of harvest time.  Church families would help each Read more […]
