Christianity Declining but Still a Majority in the U.S.

Yes we can be sorry about Christianity declining but we might be better off if it did it more quickly for awhile. A friend of mine pointed out this story from Pew Research: “The Changing Religious Landscape: Christians Decline Sharply as Share of Population; Unaffiliated and Other Faiths Continue to Grow.” It is bad news, but there is also some good news in the story. The Christian share of the U.S. population is declining, while the number of U.S. adults who do not identify with any organized Read more […]

Millennials Are Voting GOP (Even Hispanic Ones)

The media has treated us to an unending parade of bad news regarding how Millennials are voting—who are supposed to represent the future. So take a look at this headline from the National Journal: “Millennials Bolt Obama for GOP in Midterms.” And the lead paragraph is even better than the headline! In a stunning turnaround, likely voters in the so-called millennial generation prefer a Republican-led Congress after next week’s elections, and young Hispanics are turning sharply against Read more […]

Good News: Northeast United States Losing Congress

People are leaving the Northeast United States. That means other parts of the country are gaining power in Congress. This doesn’t necessarily mean that conservatism is going to win. Half of Residents Say They Wish They Could Move Out of Illinois

Of course, saying that you want to leave and actually showing a desire to leave by your efforts are two different things. The Demographic Death of Islam

In his 2011 book, How Civilizations Die, David P. Goldman (a.k.a. international columnist Spengler) writes that most societies do not end due to external conquest, but through internal suicide. He describes what he calls “Spengler’s Universal Laws,” which teach that despite the fact that the mortality rate is 100% for humans, most of the history of mankind can be summarized as a search for immortality. This means that most individuals in a society seek to perpetuate their own beliefs and views, Read more […]

A Sleeping Citizenry Will Be Our Death

News arrived last Thursday that welfare spending has jumped 32 percent under Barack Obama’s presidency. Welfare, which encompasses spending on Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Section 8 housing, and food stamps, was accorded approximately $1.03 trillion in 2011. It was the single largest expenditure that year, and one that America simply cannot afford. From 2008 to 2011, food-stamp spending alone increased 71 percent. Why, when the current administration, via the Department of Agriculture, Read more […]
