Planned Parenthood Thinks Very Highly of Itself

Right at the start, there are two things wrong with this situation.  I am sure there are more, but we will just consider the two for the sake of time. First, there is this statement as written by Kevin McGill for “Planned Parenthood had challenged the state’s right to end the funding for cancer screenings, gynecology exams and other health services.” Mr. McGill wrote a fine sentence, it is the content of it that is the problem.  Why does Planned Parenthood get to challenge the state’s Read more […]

Pro-Abortion Crowd Chants ‘Hail Satan’

It’s been noted by many conservative authors that liberalism is like a religion, and abortion is the liberals’ sacrament. Nowhere has that been better displayed recently than at the Texas capitol, where the Legislature has been debating abortion regulations in a special session called by Gov. Rick Perry. The politicking about abortion in Texas has been heated for weeks as pro-abortion liberals fight desperately to block efforts to restrict abortion after 20 weeks and to toughen safety standards Read more […]

On Marriage Equality, Part 1: Spite and Self-Loathing

While the Supreme Court tries to figure out the most politically expedient way to avoid having to make a decision about “gay” “marriage,” I thought it would be interesting to look at a few different approaches to the civil government and holy matrimony. Today, I’ll be expressing my puzzlement with the homosexual perspective. The homosexual perspective on marriage puzzles me on many fronts. It’s like a penguin resenting its classification as a flightless bird and wanting to be numbered Read more […]

A Possessive Proposal for Feminists

I work as an editor, so forgive me beforehand for bringing up something(s) rather grammatical (i.e., not important to most people). But the unnecessary and clunky construction of the politically correct neutral third person singular pronoun really bothers me. Let me unpack that a little. The following sentence used to be correct: “I’m talking about grammar and stuff, so everyone needs to hang on to his hat.” But feminists decided that sentence was sexist, so they proposed the following: Read more […]

The Grotesque Left: Kathy Griffin Shows How Far Liberal Women Have Sunk

Warning: Lewd language. I hope every woman who voted for President Obama because of the Right’s alleged “war on women” got to see Kathy Griffin’s performance on CNN on New Year’s Eve. In a new low for CNN (though perhaps not for Griffin), the comedienne gave Anderson Cooper a kiss on his crotch on live international television. Even if he weren’t gay, Cooper’s response was exactly what you’d expect, like that of a man whose personal business was being attacked by a piranha or one of the Read more […]

How “Women’s Liberation” Has Only Made More Tax Slaves

Last month, Michelle Obama wrote an article in Elle magazine offering 5 reasons to re-elect her husband. A few of her reasons had to do with how Barack has women’s interests at heart, and that he’s been working hard for women’s rights. Her first reason people should vote for her husband was that “he’s fighting for equal pay for women”:  “Barack was raised by a single mom who struggled to pay the bills, and by a grandmother who worked hard at her job but hit a glass ceiling and watched Read more […]

Is the Term, “Freshman,” Sexist?

The University of North Carolina has dropped the term “freshman” from all their official literature and publications because it contains the word “man” in it. It excludes women (whose singular form also has the word “man” in it), and apparently offers further evidence that we live in a “male-dominated” society where even our language is affected. The UNC says they prefer a more “gender-inclusive” alternative to “freshman” such as “first year student.” I remember when Read more […]

When the ‘twit’ hits the fan

“When it rains it pours,” they say. Ever since the first debate in Denver, there have been rain clouds following President Obama’s reelection campaign. The second debate helped to slow the bleeding a bit, but now “binder-gate” and “Benghazi” are beginning to inflict a second wave of damage. Add actress and faux intellectual Eva Longoria and her lack of social media discretion to all of that, and you’ve got the makings of a perfect political storm. For those who care about such Read more […]
