Happy Thanksgiving, America! Here is Your History

We are so grateful at IOTC for the wonderful, providential year it has been. In light of this amazing holiday, I would like to give thanks for the opportunity to share the American View with others across this great country. I am especially encouraged by our American Club youth initiatives. Rush Limbaugh’s “Rush Revere Newsletter” recently recognized the efforts of one of our American Club chapters in North Carolina! In order to reinvigorate American youth, Rush featured this group that drew Read more […]

“To Acknowledge the Providence of Almighty God”

Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and—Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me “to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably Read more […]

Who Were The Ukraine Snipers Working For?

From Russia Today (buyer beware!) The snipers who shot at protesters and police in Kiev were allegedly hired by Maidan leaders, according to a leaked phone conversation between the EU foreign affairs chief Catherine Ashton and Estonian foreign affairs minister, which has emerged online. “There is now stronger and stronger understanding that behind the snipers, it was not Yanukovich, but it was somebody from the new coalition,” Urmas Paet said during the conversation. “I think we do Read more […]

The Nativity Versus Deifying Government

“I expect to see religious emblems at houses of worship, not in government buildings.” – Barry Lynn, American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) This week a nativity scene on Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina became the latest casualty in the war on Christmas. The move follows a trend of systematically removing nativity displays (and other religious art) from public property.  Just ask residents in Santa Monica, Pittsburgh, Clarksville, Tennessee, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Chambersburg, Read more […]

Supreme Court Announces America’s Death Sentence

Homosexuals across the land are celebrating in force as the US Supreme Court voted 5-4 to strike down the Defense of Marriage Act, thus opening the door to nationwide same-sex marriage. President Obama had used an executive nullification order when he told Attorney General Eric Holder to no longer enforce the federal law.  More states then took the initiative to enact their own laws to legalize same-sex marriages and like a cancer, the deadly disease of gay marriage has been rapidly spreading Read more […]

Obama, His Umbrella, and the State of the Union

As the White House has been slammed with scandals such as Benghazi, Extortion 17, the AP phone tapping scandal, targeting FOX News, and the IRS targeting conservative groups, Obama appeared before the nation at a press conference. In the middle of answering a question about the IRS scandal, it began to rain. Obama had the “audacity” to call up two marines to hold an umbrella for him and the Turkish Prime Minister, stating, “Why don’t we get a couple of Marines [to hold umbrellas.] They’re Read more […]

Liberal Myth of Separating God From the State

Virtually every week there is some outrageous story of an alleged violation of the separation of church and state. They’re becoming so frequent that they are often met with a collective yawn. The crazy thing about all this is how removed these actions are from the clear intent of the founders — as seen in their documents, their actions, words, etc. A lot of times when the pro-religious freedom side fights back, we win. (That’s because the constitution and history are on our side.) But Read more […]

Will Obama Have a Third Term?

Democrat Representative Jose Serrano from New York has reintroduced a bill that would abolish presidential term limits by repealing the 22nd Amendment. The bill proposes “an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.” This isn’t the first time Serrano has proposed this idea. He’s done it multiple times in the past under Clinton’s administration Read more […]

Third-Party Pipe Dreams

I saw a Facebook post that argued that all the presidents on Mount Rushmore were third party guys. This can hardly be true for George Washington who had no party affiliation. Political parties were in their infancy when Thomas Jefferson was elected. It seems a new party was being started every election cycle. Jefferson belonged to the Democratic-Republican Party that he organized along with James Madison in 1791. It stood in opposition to the Federalist Party and dominated American politics from Read more […]

Government Home Wreckers: You Could be Next

The greatest threat to the original American Dream is government. According to the Library of Congress, George Washington’s favorite Bible verses were those that spoke of every man dwelling safely under his own “vine and fig tree.” After the Revolution, when he had returned to Mount Vernon, he wrote the Marquis de Lafayette on Feb. 1, 1784: “At length my Dear Marquis I am become a private citizen on the banks of the Potomac, & under the shadow of my own Vine & my own Fig-tree.” Read more […]
