After $205 Million, the Hawaii Obamacare Exchange Shutting Down

Yet another state Obamacare exchange has sucked up Federal dollars and then disintegrated. Hawaii is a state that couldn’t be more sympathetic to Barack Obama or his promises regarding healthcare. Yet they could not keep their exchange going. It is shutting down. As Americans for Tax Reform report, Despite over $205 million in federal taxpayer funding, Hawaii’s Obamacare exchange website will soon shut down.  Since its implementation, the exchange has somehow failed to become financially Read more […]

Minnesota Obamacare Exchange: Failure

The Minnesota Obamacare Exchange has once again been forced to lower their estimate of how many people will enroll. So, as a state that enthusiastically participated in Obamacare, the powers that be in Minnesota confidently predicted last year that they would be able to enroll 297,000 people through the state’s insurance exchange. Presumably, part of the reason for that number is the researched finding that almost 300,000 people or households need that insurance. I’m curious why people Read more […]

Washington State Obamacare Has Emptied Bank Accounts

From KGW News: For the second week in a row, the Washington Healthplanfinder website is down, and it’s causing problems for people who are dealing with billing issues. Some of them say the website is mistakenly debiting their accounts. Shannon Bruner of Indianola logged on to her checking account Monday morning, and found she was almost 800 dollars in the negative. “The first thing I thought was, ‘I got screwed,’” she said. Her first thought was obviously accurate! She was not expecting Read more […]

CA GOP Fights Obamacare & Outrages Liberals; They Are A Model, Not An Embarrassment

I don’t know why taxpayer dollars were available for the website, but the site itself was an excellent idea. You know it is great because Liberals are screaming about it: California Assembly Republicans are getting blowback for a website that points out some of the, ahem, shortcomings of the new health care law. Not only does it share a similar URL to California’s official CoveredCA.com, but it kinda looks official. The concern is that it could cause confusion for those looking for the actual Read more […]

Obamacare Is Failing Even Where The Website Works And Rates Are Lower

I honestly don’t know how to account for this. Back on September 30, we were told to expect great things in New York State: “If the volume of callers at the call center is any indication, I know there’s a lot of demand out there,” said Elisabeth Benjamin, vice president of Health Initiatives of the Community Service Society of New York. About 44% of CSS’ clients are uninsured, she said. Because New York was among the first states to establish its exchange, health care advocates say the system Read more […]

Obama Punishes States For Not Participating in Obamacare Exchange Program

A couple weeks ago, I shared with you that a number of Republican governors have opted not to participate in the Obamacare health insurance exchange program.  They cite the huge costs that it would place on already tight state budgets.  A group of GOP governors had written the Obama administration asking for instructions on the exchange program, but the federal government has never responded and never furnished guidelines or rules for the states to follow. Virginia Gov. Robert McDonnell commented Read more […]
