Common Core and Progressive Domination of Math Instruction Equals Mathematic Illiteracy

A century of progressive domination of the American educational system has resulted in a growing number of Americans remaining mathematically illiterate. The Common Core standards are a repeat of previously failed federal policies which fail to develop academic skill making the study of mathematics needlessly boring and challenging for too many talented students. These federally supported educational policies have left our society short of talented mathematicians needed to make the American economy Read more […]

Seventy-Five Percent of High School Seniors Have Been Wasting Their Time in School

Three-fourths of students should have been doing something productive with their lives rather than going to math classes. That is what we learn from the recent release of the nation’s “report card.” Sixty percent would probably be better off if they had dropped out and gotten a full-time job. According to Breitbart, In an abysmal showing, only about one-quarter of U.S. high school seniors performed solidly in math in a major assessment known as the nation’s report card, reinforcing concerns Read more […]

A Reminder The US Will Never Pay Off Its Debt

From the Rare blog: Your share of the national debt is now $1.1 million Each U.S. taxpayer now has a federal-debt liability of $1.1 million, and rising. It is a pleasant dream, but it is probably not really a possible outcome. If people were Read more […]

Forty five states have adopted the entire Common Core Curriculum. One might ask why that is so dangerous. After all, Federal standards have been around since Jimmy Carter made the Department of Education a bona fide arm of the federal government in the 1970s. Simply put, Common Read more […]

Is Racial Segregation Creeping Back into Government Schools?

The Florida Board of Education recently passed provisions outlining goals for students’ math and reading skills. They don’t treat all the students equally though. They’ve applied different goals based on a student’s race or ethnic background. They’ve segregated the students into groups including Asians, whites, Latinos, and blacks. More is expected from Asians than from all the groups. The Board wants only 74% of black students to be reading at or above their grade level by 2018 compared Read more […]
