Stuck on the No-Fly List with No Way Out

In the past, I’ve posted about a Congressman who was put on a no-fly list. Eventually, he found out why and, much later, was taken off the list. Before that happened, he was able to fly hassle-free by using his middle name. Good thing the terrorists will never try that. Unfortunately, most people put on the list are not powerful or well-connected enough to do anything about it. The Knoxville New Sentinel reports, “Right name, wrong man: Knoxville veterinarian can’t get off no-fly list.” Try Read more […]

Representative Put on No-Fly List; Told to Use Middle Name

Liberals want to use the no-fly list, or some other terrorist watch list, to suspend an American’s Second-Amendment right to bear arms, it might be good to learn about the story of Congressman Tom McClintock of Elk Grove, California. The Conservative Republican was put on the no-fly list. The Sacramento Bee reports: Among the proposed restrictions advocated by President Barack Obama and rebuffed by Congress is to ban those on the federal government’s terrorist no-fly list from being able Read more […]

Some Liberals Try to Get Others to Back Off of the No Gun List

This picture showed up the other day on my Facebook feed: The National Rifle Association, for what it is worth, is politically powerful because it represents a vast number of voters. So being “in the pocket of the National Rifle Association” is a way to disparage the voters. That is all. But aside from the NRA smear, what are we to make of Liberals who think it is a good idea to arbitrarily deprive you of your rights without a trial? In fact, lots of Liberals are realizing that position Read more […]

Are the Feds Really Going to Change the No-Fly List Policy?

The No-Fly List has been energetically defended by our Executive Branch machinery. They even used the list to try to prevent a witness from flying to the trial to testify against the list! Now, the Associated Press headline claims that they intend to change the list: “Changes planned on how travelers can protest placement on no-fly list.” The Obama administration is promising to change the way travelers can ask to be removed from its no-fly list of suspected terrorists banned from air Read more […]

The Definition of Terrorist Expanding Under Barack Obama

The definition of terrorist is much like the definition of “criminal” in relation to the political class: they have a motive to enlarge it. No one described this fact more dramatically than Ayn Rand in her novel, Atlas Shrugged, where she has a government bureaucrat lecture CEO and entrepreneur Hank Reardon: “Did you really think we want those laws observed?” said Dr. Ferris. “We want them to be broken. You’d better get it straight that it’s not a bunch of boy scouts you’re up Read more […]

Great Legal News: Federal Judge Rules Constitution Forbids Unchallengeable No-Fly List

The Federal Government has allegedly used the No-Fly list to prevent a witness from flying who was going to testify against the No-Fly list in court.  It is high time the authority to ban people from air travel was reviewed in court. Today’s ruling is good news! From AntiWar.com: In a 65-page ruling issued today US District Judge Anna Brown declare the current US “no-fly list” unconstitutional because it does not allow people on the list to challenge that status. Brown ruled that Read more […]

TSA Calls And Threatens Parody-Maker With Blacklisting?

Brief strong language. I would be relieved if this turned out to be a hoax, but I don’t think it is. From the YouTube post: I received a call from a man named John on January 19 claiming to be from the TSA and had some questions for me. I asked him to call me back next day that I couldn’t hear him well. He agreed and within an hour or two I download an app so I can record phone calls. Today January 20th around 5:42pm while sitting outside he called back and I was able to record the whole Read more […]

How Feds Fight No-Fly Lawsuit: No-Fly A Witness & Then Lie About It

Techdirt reported today on the lawsuit of a Stanford PhD student, Rahinah Ibrahim, who is suing the US government over their no-fly list. The Feds are exercising complete discretion, barring people from traveling without have to show cause and with no appeal permitted on the part of the victim. Apparently, one of the people set to testify in the case, Ibrahim’s oldest daughter, Raihan Mustafa Kamal (an American citizen, born in the US), was blocked from boarding her flight to the US to appear at Read more […]
