July 4th, What is Independence About?

When my granddaughter Megan was 8 years old and just completed 2nd grade, her mom asked her about the Fourth of July and if she knew what it was about. The Grinch that Stole Thanksgiving

My wife hates Christmas. Well, okay, that’s not quite true. My wife hates that Christmas trumps Thanksgiving. Every year, immediately following the Halloween promotions, stores and businesses gear up for Christmas. Trees and garland replace pumpkins and spider webs.
