Is the Middle Class Gone?

When you read the news of the day, and a big story confirms one of your biggest fears, the temptation to panic is great.  Today that happened for me.  Take a look at some of the  numbers released from the Social Security Administration today. You can find the report that the Social Security Administration just released right here.  The following are some of the numbers that really stood out for me… -38 percent of all American workers made less than $20,000 last year. -51 percent of all Read more […]

Toddler Verbosity Gap Gives State License To Put Eighteen-Month-Olds Into Pre-Pre-School

The New York Times informs us that there are people who want to put children in school at a much earlier age: Nearly two decades ago, a landmark study found that by age 3, the children of wealthier professionals have heard words millions more times than those of less educated parents, giving them a distinct advantage in school and suggesting the need for increased investment in prekindergarten programs. Now a follow-up study has found a language gap as early as 18 months, heightening the policy Read more […]

GOP Chris Christie’s Democratic Ways Leads To Highest Poverty Level In 52 Years

For the past year I’ve been saying that New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is a Democrat in Republican clothes.  Earlier this year, I raised the question if Christie could run for re-election this November on both the Republican and Democratic tickets because of his very liberal policies. To list just a few of his liberal ways that makes him look more like a Democrat than a Republican, I’ll start with his anti-Second Amendment stance on wanting to ban any form of assault or assault-style Read more […]

New York Schools Drop First Lady’s Lunch Program

Michelle Obama’s school lunch program isn’t winning many fans among the nation’s students or their  parents. In fact, another school district recently decided to drop the federal menu plans after numerous complaints from students that they were left hungry and didn’t like most of the food options. Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School District in New York said that it lost about $100,000 this year by trying out the federal program because the children disliked the menu choices and started bringing Read more […]

Why Poverty is Mostly a Self-Inflicted Condition

For decades Americans have been told that the way to rid the nation of poverty is to redistribute wealth to the underclass. We’ve seen an increase in wealth redistribution since the Great Society anti-poverty programs of the 1960s under Lyndon B. Johnson’s administration. The amount of wealth redistribution in America today is staggering, and yet we still have an underclass, an underclass that is growing. Human nature comes into play for every economic transaction that takes place. People Read more […]

Obama’s SOTU: Same Old Lies, Plus Now He’s Kennedy

One thing about President Obama, he’s a living testimony to the importance of role models in a little boy’s fantasy life. For most of the past year, Obama and his handlers have been comparing him to Abraham Lincoln, but as a young man’s fancies are apt to do, Obama’s aspirations have apparently moved on and he now imagines himself one day being John Kennedy. Leading off his State of the Union address by paraphrasing Kennedy that “the Constitution makes us not rivals for power but partners for Read more […]

Obama Picks Another Left-Wing Extremist to Advisory Post

A year ago, President Barack Obama met with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.  An open microphone picked up a conversation that Obama never wanted anyone in the United States to hear. Obama: “On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved, but it’s important for him [Putin] to give me space.” Medvedev: “Yeah, I understand. I understand your message about space. Space for you…” Obama: “This is my last election,” President Obama said. “After Read more […]

The Biggest Under-Reported News Story in the World

Herbert E. Meyer, who served during the Reagan administration as special assistant to the director of Central Intelligence, and vice chairman of the CIA’s National Intelligence Council, offers insight into the inner workings of the Reagan Administration. In addition, Meyer offers some encouraging news about how millions of people around the world are emerging from poverty at a rapid rate. (For the first part of my interview with Meyer, click here.) The first rule of organizations is that first-rate Read more […]

The Politics of Poverty

In a study released in Financial Times in late 2006, it was revealed that the richest 2% of adults in the world own more than 50% of the total assets, while the poorest half of the population hold a mere 1%. [1] Statistics like this were highly prevalent during the Obama presidential campaigns, and they are get repeated in pop culture through propaganda such as Michael Moore’s “documentary” Capitalism: A Love Story. Although these statistics may help to foster greed and envy among the poor of Read more […]

Could Your Family Live on $61,320 Per Year Tax Free?

There’s a new report out by the Senate Budget Committee that calculates that “the amount of money spent on welfare programs equals, when converted to cash payments, about ‘$168 per day for every household in poverty.’” Here’s the math: $168 per day x 365 days = $61, 320. If someone gave you $61,320 per year with no federal, state, or Social Security taxes taken out, could your family live on that amount? Most likely nearly every family in America could if they chose a modest lifestyle. Read more […]

Pure and Undefiled Religion

What passes for Christianity these days is really nothing more than baptized statism, i.e. 21st century Christianity has less of an issue with an omnipotent government than they do with an omnipotent God. Similar to the church in Ephesus (Revelation 2:4), American Christianity has “left its first love.” Rather than viewing the Church as the change-agent for modern civilization, we have traded away our ecclesiastical birthright for a steaming pile of tax-exempt pottage. The governmental usurper Read more […]

Homeland Security Welcomes Immigrants With Welfare Programs

Just what we need. A government website that encourages new immigrants to get signed up for welfare. is a Homeland Security-run website for those who are new to the United States. Part of their “welcoming package” is information about all the government benefits that are at their disposal:  “free” public education, healthcare, supplemental security income (SSI), food stamps, temporary assistance for needy families (TANF), etc. It gives the impression that once an alien enters Read more […]
