Debt Jumped a Third of a $Trillion When Limit is Extended

The same day the debt ceiling was raised the debt jumped by a staggering amount. Here is President Obama talking how great it is that Republicans increased spending and funded the government for two years. Now here is the reality, reported by the Washington Examiner: “Debt ceiling lifted, and the same day, debt jumps $339B.” The U.S. national debt jumped $339 billion on Monday, the same day President Obama signed into law legislation suspending the debt ceiling. That legislation allowed Read more […]

Trumping Trump–Can the GOP Get Rid of Him?

I am a registered Republican.  I am not an establishment Republican, and, I am only registered as a Republican so I can vote in the primaries.  When people start talking to me about Donald Trump being the GOP Candidate, I immediately start thinking about his stupid hair!  That is how seriously I take Donald Trump as a candidate.  I have also been known to compare him to Ross Perot.  He is a rich guy who can spend enough of his own money to get to the White House, and, he seems to believe his Read more […]

Republicans and Unions Fight Obamacare Tax

The tax on “Cadillac” plans is being opposed by both Republicans and unions. According to the Washington Times, “Obamacare ‘Cadillac tax’ to hit 1 in 4 employers that offer health care benefits.” Obamacare’s “Cadillac tax” will hit one in four employers that offer health care benefits, a leading industry analyst says in a report being released Tuesday, socking companies with a massive levy that Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill say is unfair to those who have negotiated Read more […]

Study Shows GOP Couples Happier; Mother Jones Worries about Bias

Mother Jones blogger wants to end discussions of whether Republican married couples are happier than Democrats. If same-sex “married” couples claimed they were happier than “other” married couples, the news would have been shouted in the pages of Mother Jones as the assured results of objective science. (By any scientific analysis, same-sex marriages are not marriages at all but couples in relationships who may adopt children or have children outside the relationship and then adopt them. More Taxes and Debt as Gov Consumes, but Spends More

The government continues collecting more taxes and debt. That which is unsustainable will not be sustained. Back in September 2014, Bob Allen wrote about “Record Revenues for the Federal Government as the Debt Grows.” Sadly, the trend hasn’t stopped since then. CNS News reports, “$2,672,414,000,000: Federal Taxes Set Record through July; $17,955 Per Worker—Feds Still Run $465.5B Deficit.” The federal government raked in a record of approximately $2,672,414,000,000 in tax revenues Read more […]

Wake Up and Smell the Corruption, Millennials!

A quiz for college students shows they are completely brainwashed about Republicans and corruption. I’ve posted many times about how Hillary Clinton is thoroughly a Wall Street candidate (along with Silicon Valley and other centers of wealth). Even Democrats are aware of this to some extent, which is why some are rooting for the socialist Bernie Sanders. So how can the young people in this video be so naïve? Hillary Clinton herself seems to be banking on their ignorance. Campus Reform, Read more […]

Democrats Block Obamatrade

Wha-a-a-a-a-a? … It’s finally happened. The day has come when the House Democrats’ actions are actually saving the Republic from the Republican leadership and the ambitions of the Democrats’ own creation, President Obama. That’s right. The party that was so happy a year ago about Obama’s ever-expanding usurpation of powers that some of its members were sending him lists of topics to use executive authority on, has just blocked Obamatrade. It wasn’t solely the Democrats’ doing, of course, Read more […]

Democrats Defeat Obama and Republicans (for Now)

Not only did Democrats defeat Obama, they defended the Senate’s constitutional powers to approve treaties. Yes, I know the headline seems crazy. But that is exactly what happened. Obama and Republican leadership in Congress tried to give the President special powers that would bind the hands of the Senate and the Democrats spoiled their plans. Here’s a Washington Times headline: “Obama after trade deal defeat: This is personal for me.” Minutes after his former Democratic colleagues Read more […]

Support for Big Business Means Opposing Free Markets

Why won’t Republicans oppose those in Big Business who hate them? I don’t necessarily support the packaging of this essay at USA Today, but he makes some devastatingly good points I’ve tried to emphasize over and over in discussing things within the economy. The Republicans have a real opportunity to connect with voters and win big in 2016. But to do so, they’ll have to get over their traditional love for Big Business. Will they be smart enough to do that? The prospects don’t look especially Read more […]

Crony GOP Politicians Attack Private Business for Government

We have at least three GOP politicians who want to obstruct a private space travel company in order to give more business to NASA. You really know the world is twisted, not when you have Republican Congressman promoting a state agency by trying to use the law to hamper a private business (that probably happens more often than we realize), but when you have a defense of the free market posted at Slate: “Three Congressmen Are Using Red Tape to Bind SpaceX to Earth.” Hey, remember Sen. Richard Read more […]

National Voters Poll: No Higher Gas Tax!

Here is more evidence that Senate Republicans’ “openness” to a higher gas tax is a betrayal of voters. As I have written about, Senate Republicans, having been handed a historical victory, are publicly expressing openness to raising taxes. Specifically, they want to raise the gas tax. Our one unexpected gift of prosperity and the politicians we put in office believe we must be punished for it. And, for the record, voters want nothing to do with it. As the Daily Caller reports, “Poll: Read more […]

Democrats Gain Nothing and Republicans Lose Members

Despite their recent victory, the trend shows that Republicans lose members. OK, so I find this very interesting—and somewhat hopeful. It is from Gallup: “Record-High 42% of Americans Identify as Independents: Republican identification lowest in at least 25 years.” Forty-two percent of Americans, on average, identified as political independents in 2013, the highest Gallup has measured since it began conducting interviews by telephone 25 years ago. Meanwhile, Republican identification Read more […]
